Not long after sending that he did find himself in a sick spot when his was all-in on a flop against the of Glen Cymbaluk. Just as it looked like Veldhuis had predicted his own demise the landed on the turn to improve him to a full house. The river completed the hand and saw Veldhuis' stack boosted.
Toni Judet has added a few chips during the first four-and-a-half levels today, and just now he grabbed a few more.
After opening with a raise from middle position, Judet saw two opponents call — one behind him, the other from the small blind. The flop came . It checked to Judet who bet 1,400, and only the player in the small blind called. The turn brought the and a check from Judet's opponent, in response to which the Romanian bet 2,500, earning a fold and the small pot.
Judet is hoping to improve upon a couple of deep runs in EPT Main Events over the last few years, including a 16th-place finish at EPT Vienna and a 21st at EPT Loutraki.
Jason Koon's stack has just been given a significant boost thanks to him being paid off by Flavien Guenan.
We joined the action on a board, Guenan had 3,100 chips in front of him and he was facing a raise to 11,200. Two minutes passed before Guenan talked himself into a call, but he will be wishing he didn't because Koon showed for a full house. Guenan mucked.
A short stacked Illia Kainov has just been eliminated after a clash with Eric Marks.
It was Romain Dours who opened to 600 from middle position and after Walid Bou Habib folded, Illia Kainov moved all-in for 4,425 in total. Marks first asked for confirmation of the all in amount and then called. Dours let his hand go and the active players' cards were revealed.
Kainov:

Kainov did not fancy his chances of coming from behind because before the dealer had fanned out the flop he had stood away from the table and started to gather his belongings. The turn was the followed by the river and Kainov's exit was confirmed.
A quick walk down one row of tables finds last year's EPT Deauville Main Event champion Vadim Kursevich sitting relatively comfortably with an above average stack of about 45,000 at present. Kursevich claimed a handsome €875,000 first prize for last year's win.
One table over we find the man Kursevich defeated heads-up last year, Paul Guichard. Guichard — who won €557,000 for finishing runner-up a year ago — likewise has increased his stack today to sit with about 48,000 at the moment.
While both Kursevich and Guichard have gotten off to decent starts today, their afternoons haven't gone quite as well as that of [Removed:4]. The German player is sitting at another table along the same row as those two, having already amassed about 185,000 chips, easily the biggest stack in the room thus far today.
Bryn Kenney's Day 1b hasn't gone so well thus far, as he came back from the recent break to a stack of less than 5,000.
Kenney did manage a double up soon after returning, however, after reraising all in from the button with and getting called by an opponent holding . The board rolled out , and Kenney is still kicking with his below-average stack.
Gordon Huntly's stack had shrunk severely since we last looked in on him but he just managed a double up to ease his pain.
Aubin Cazals raised to 700 from under the gun and was called by Roman Korenev in mid position before Huntly moved all in for 5,175 from the cut-off. Cazals folded and Korenev made the call.
So said Alexandre Amiel just now to his tablemate, Freddy Deeb. Positioned to Amiel's right, Deeb had been standing to stretch for a hand or so when the Frenchman grinningly made his remark. Deeb smiled right back.
"I look like I'm sitting down when I'm standing up!" Deeb cracked before sitting back down to take the next hand.
Deeb might be short in stature, but his stack isn't, as he's managed to more than double his starting chips during the first four levels today.
