Schwartz Pays to See a House

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Luke Schwartz
Luke Schwartz

Three players went to a flop in a three-bet pot. The cards fell {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{j-Spades} and it was checked to Luke Schwartz who bet 2,500. Ariel Malnik made the call and they saw a turn {j-Clubs}.

Both players checked the turn and when the river came the {5-Clubs} Malnik bet 4,000. Schwartz rocked back and forth in his chair for a while before rolling his eyes, grabbing a T5000 chip and tossing it on the felt to call.
Malnik showed him a winner, {j-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Wake Up Blom, Blomlie Has Bet

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Viktor Blom
Viktor Blom

Viktor Blom raised from early position and Olvedo Heinze called as did Roberto Romanello on the button and small blind Mikal Blomlie from Norway. They saw a flop of {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and all four players checked.

A turn card {q-Diamonds} saw Blomlie bet 1,900 and Blom stared into space analysing the situation. Or so it appeared as when a player asked if Blom realised it was on him he came round and folded his cards. Heinze folded too but ROmanello made the call.

The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Blomlie bet 4,500. Romanelli in the 10 seat did his best to study his man in the 1 seat. In the end he flicked out a chip for a call but nodded and mucked when Blomlie showed his {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} flush.

"You Always Have Diamonds"

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey checked to Spanish wunderkind Sergio Aido in the cutoff on a board of {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. The dealer then put out the river: {6-Hearts}. Ivey checked again to Aido.

Aido thought about it for a little bit before betting 2,200. Ivey called and Aido showed his {J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Ivey then opened his {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for the rivered straight and took it down.

"Always the diamonds huh?" said Ivey. "What was that?" asked Aido. "You always have diamonds" laughed Ivey while he was stacking the chips he just won.

Mercier’s Tournament is Over

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Nikolay Baranov had bet 9,000, a pot sized bet, on a flop reading {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier went all in for a little over 20k. Baranov had a quick think and a study of the flop but did make the call.

Mercier quickly tabled {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} which was surely a relief to Baranov who had flopped middle set {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.
The turn {7-Hearts} and river {2-Diamonds} saw Mercier head for the exit.

Eighters Gonna Eight

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

A much-needed double up for Friend of PokerStars Pierre Neuville. He was all in with {8-}{8-} against Dani Stern's {7-}{7-} and although Stern hit the {6-}{7-}{5-} flop hardest, Neuville would manage to come out on top. After the {Q-} turn, the river was the {4-} to make a straight for the Belgian player.

Stern still has about 70,000.

Juanda vs. Blain

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Dermot Blain
Dermot Blain

With 4,000 or so in the pot and a flop of {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, Full Tilt Poker Ambassador Dermot Blain checked from the big blind and John Juanda fired out a pot-sized bet from the cutoff. Blain made the call and then both players checked the {K-Hearts} turn as well as the {8-Spades} river.

Blain tabled the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}, and despite a scary run out, it held as Juanda tossed his cards to the muck.

Life on Mars

Level 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

On a {4-Spades}{K-Spades}{10-Spades} flop, Shingis Satubayev moved all in for 9,150. Emil Patel made the call, as did Jean-Jacques Mars while Andrey Golubev folded.

Patel and Mars both checked the {6-Diamonds} turn and Patel also checked the {5-Hearts} river but Mars bet 7,300 as a response. Patel tanked for a minute but ended up folding.

Satubayev: {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Mars: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}

The Frenchman picked up a big pot, hitting the heady heights of 80,000.
