Carrel and Wittendorff Chop

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Keith Johnson raised to 60,000 and Kim Wittendorff called in the hijack, as did Charlie Carrel on the button. On the flop {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Wittendorff's bet of 85,000 was called by Carrel and Johnson check-folded. Both remaining players checked down the {3-Spades} turn and {7-Spades} which completed a straight on the board. Wittendorff showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Carrel the {A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to chop it up.

Watson Eliminated

Level 15 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

In the hijack, Dario Sammartino raised to 55,000. Mike Watson called from the big blind and the two of them took a flop of {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades}. Watson checked and Sammartino made a bet of 33,000. Watson shoved all in for 146,000 and Sammartino instantly called.

Dario Sammartino: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Mike Watson: {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

The {7-Diamonds} on the turn did nothing for Watson, and neither did the {A-Clubs} on the river. Watson out in 21st place.

Wittendorff Smiles Again

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

On the turn {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}, Anton Bertilsson cut out a bet of 110,000 and Kim Wittendorff check-raised all in for more than 600,000 to enforce a fold from Bertilsson. The Dane then grinned and cheekily showed {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a pair of tens and straight draw.

The last hand of the level saw Nick Petrangelo raise to 45,000 from the button. Dario Sammartino squeezed to 115,000 from the small blind and Petrangelo's four-bet to 288,000 then scooped the pot without showdown.

Kanit Now Cracks Kings

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Chance Kornuth opened to 40,000 and Mustapha Kanit moved all in for 477,000 from the small blind. Little did he know that Sam Chartier would find a big hand again behind him and reshoved in very similar fashion to the previous clash. Kornuth folded and Kanit was once again in trouble.

Kanit: {A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Chartier: {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades} and the Italian cracked the next big pocket pair to stay in the tournament. Kornuth added that he folded pocket nines.

McDonald Loses Flip to Bertilsson

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Mike McDonald
Mike McDonald

Charlie Carrel raised to 50,000 from the cutoff and Anton Bertilsson three-bet to 120,000 from one seat over. Mike McDonald then squeezed all in for what looked like 270,000 out of the small blind with Carrel folding and Bertilsson calling.

McDonald: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Bertilsson: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {Q-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and the Canadian headed to the rail while Bertilsson once again generated a small gap at the top of the counts.

Kitai Doubles Through Kanit

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

From middle position Mustapha Kanit raised and from the big blind Davidi Kitai made the call. Kitai checked on {8-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Kanit bet 45,000. Kitai check raised all in for 246,000 total and Kanit called.

Mustapha Kanit: {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Davidi Kitai: {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The {5-Spades} on the turn and {J-Spades} on the river didn't help Kanit and Kitai doubled up.

Kanit was down to 360,000, but won 125,000 the next hand as Chance Kornuth raise folded to Kanit's shove.

Yu Doubles Up Through Wittendorff...again

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

A while ago Winfred Yu doubled up through Kim Wittendorff eights vs kings. He's done it again, only this time he was ahead.

Yu moved all-in for his remaining 10 big blinds with {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and Wittendorff looked him up from the button holding {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. "Come on," he said, hoping to win the flip to bust a player with just a short while to go until the scheduled dinner break.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{6-Spades} giving Wittendorff extra outs, but the {4-Spades} narrowed them further and the {6-Clubs} elicited a thump of the table from Wittendorff who is down to 515000
