Petrangelo First to Exit

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The first elimination has taken place and the cards were all but rushed away. Paul Newey confirmed that a raising war took place between Michael Bonzon and Nick Petrangelo. The latter had {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and got his stack in after a flop of {9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Bonzon however snapped him off with pocket aces and the board blanked out with the {K-Hearts} turn and {3-Spades} river.

A single re-entry is available until around 5 p.m. local time, so Petrangelo may rejoin the competition once again.

Troyanovskiy's Jacks no Good

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With already 70,000 chips in the middle, Vladimir Troyanovskiy checked the {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs} turn and then called a bet worth 33,000 by Stephen Chidwick. The Brit checked behind a {5-} river and showed pocket queens, Troyanovskiy had pocket jacks and lost a decent chunk of his stack early on.

Kempe and Bonomo Chop It Up

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On the {7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} river, Justin Bonomo fired a bet worth 30,000 and Rainer Kempe called after very brief consideration. The German must have hated the final community card though, as it spoiled a big payday. Kempe had the {6-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Bonomo the {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds} with both players chopping the pot.

Vogelsang Wins Four Bet Pot

Level 2 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Under the gun Fedor Holz raised to 2,500, only to be three bet by his neighbor Charlie Carrel to 8,000. Action folded to big blind Christoph Vogelsang and the German high roller cold four bet to 23,000. Folz folded right away, Carrel made the call after thinking about it for a bit.

Vogelsang bet 17,000 on {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Carrel wasted not much time raising to 42,000. Vogelsang made the call by tossing in an extra 25,000-chip. Both players then checked the {K-Spades} on the turn, only for the {6-Spades} to pop up on the river.

Vogelsang thought about it for a bit before betting 65,000. Carrel went into the tank, said "I'm not raising you" with a smile, before eventually calling it off. Vogelsang confidently showed his {9-Spades}{9-Spades} and Carrel mucked with a wry smile.

"Happy to get to see that," said Fedor Holz who was in the process of being moved to another table, "That's why he's the best."
