Carrel Takes from Fatehi

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Ali Reza Fatehi
Ali Reza Fatehi

The action started with a raise to 3,200 by Ali Reza Fatehi and Juha Helppi called in the hijack. Charlie Carrel three-bet to 11,500 out of the small blind and just Fatehi came along to see a flop of {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{7-Hearts}.

Carrel bet 15,000 and Fatehi raised to 31,000 before Carrel then put in two T25,000 chips without saying anything. The floor was called and, despite Carrel claiming he wanted to raise, it was just ruled as a call instead. On the {3-Clubs} turn, Carrel bet 35,000 and Fatehi called before the {A-Spades} on the river went check, check.

Carrel announced a queen and turned over {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}, Fatehi mucked.

Kabrhel vs. Greenwood

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Sam Greenwood raised to 3,000 from under the gun and Martin Kabrhel flat-called on the button. On the {J-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, Greenwood checked and called a bet worth 4,000 by Kabrhel. On the {9-Spades} turn, Greenwood bet 8,500 and Kabrhel raised to 25,000, the Canadian called.

Eventually, the {2-Hearts} river triggered a check by both players and Greenwood turned over {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for a busted nut flush draw, while Kabrhel helped himself back to starting stack with {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a pair of nines.

Haxton Pays Off Big River Bet from Aldemir

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Isaac Haxton checked from the big blind on a board of {5-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, and Koray Aldemir bet 12,000, just a hair under the size of the pot. Haxton called and then checked the {5-Clubs} river. Aldemir bet 29,000 this time, and Haxton called after some thought. Aldemir showed {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a flopped flush and Haxton couldn't beat it.

Yaghmai Takes from Grospellier

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

In the cutoff, Bertrand Grospellier raised to 2,500 and Nariman Yaghmai three-bet to 6,500 from one seat over on the button. The blinds got out of the way and Grospellier called. On the {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop, Grospellier check-called a bet worth 5,500 before the duo then checked the {8-Spades} on the turn.

After the {A-Spades} river, Grospellier checked and Yaghmai checked behind. The PokerStars Team Pro flipped over {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, which ended up second best to Yaghmai's {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

Czechoslovakia

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Nick Petrangelo (hijack) raised to 3,000 and got no fewer than four callers: Max Silver (cutoff), Mikita Badziakouski (button), Bertrand Grospellier (small blind) and Nariman Yaghmai (big blind) all wanted to see a flop.

All of them checked the {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop and {J-Clubs} turn before Grospellier bet 7,000 on the {6-Clubs} river. Yaghmai folded, Petrangelo called, Silver and Badziakouski folded.

Grospellier tabled {Q-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} but would have to leave the pot to Petrangelo who showed {K-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Hand 1

Martin Kozlov raised to 2,500 from under the gun and Charlie Carrel called in the big blind. On the {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, Carrel check-called a bet worth 2,200 and did so again for 13,500 on the {4-Clubs} turn. Hand 3

Misstep from Thorel Costs Him a Round

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Jean-Noel Thorel
Jean-Noel Thorel

Jean-Noel Thorel bet from the button and got check-called by Alexandros Kolonias. Thorel showed top pair with {k-}{9-} on a board of {10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. The only problem was the river had yet to emerge from the deck, and the dealer placed the {2-Spades} on board. Kolonias thought a long time and checked, with Thorel checking and winning a pot worth over 25,000.

After the hand, a tournament official handed Thorel a one-round penalty. Anthony Zinno lobbied for a warning but the official said he was sorry but the rule said a penalty must be given in that spot.

Kabrhel's Tiny Bet Gets Popped

Level 2 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Big blind Martin Kabrhel checked to Isaac Haxton on a board of {j-Hearts}{3-Spades}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts}, and after tanking a bit, Haxton checked back. On the {6-Spades} river, Kabrhel bet just 1,500 into a pot of 7,800, and Haxton responded with a big raise to 19,000. Kabrhel tanked a few minutes and ultimately let his hand go.
