Margereson Elimination Riles Dermican; Tournament on Bubble

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Scott Margereson
Scott Margereson

Scott Margereson raised to 20,000 from under the gun. Serdar Demircan three-bet to 95,000 from the big blind. Margereson then four-bet all in for 261,000. Dermican snap-called.

Serdar Demircan: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Scott Margereson: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

There was no help for Margereson on the {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} runout and he was eliminated, with the tournament on the exact bubble.

"I'm never swapping with you again," said Sam Grafton loudly from another table.

"You don't talk," Demircan shouted back at Grafton. "I know what you did to my friend yesterday. You don't talk."

"It's not as bad as it sounds," Grafton explained to the players who had already forgotten the hand and were fixated on the ensuing spat. "I four-bet ace-nine off."

"You don't talk," continued Dermican, perhaps not realising that that is precisely what Grafton is famed for.

Nevanlinna Eliminated

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Jussi Nevanlinna
Jussi Nevanlinna

Krasimir Yankov raised to 17,000 from the cutoff, and Jussi Nevanlinna put his last 16,000 into the middle from the button. Max Silver in the small blind and Simone Speranza in the big blind called.

The flop fell {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and both Silver and Speranza checked. Yankov bet and both his opponents folded, which meant a showdown between Yankov and Nevanlinna.

Yankov tabled {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for top pair, and Nevanlinna had fallen with {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}.

The board completed {2-Hearts} and {7-Spades}, which were no help for Nevanlinna, who became the first player to exit during hand-for-hand.

Finger Exits Before Dinner Break

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Martin Finger
Martin Finger

With five minutes left on the level before the players break for dinner, Martin Finger has seen his tournament come to a finish.

Finger got all his chips into the middle against Zhong Chen and found himself in a bad spot.

Finger held {a-}{q-}, and Chen was way ahead with {a-}{a-}.

There was to be no miracle board for Finger, and he departed short of the money places.
