Meijer van Putten Hits Quads

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Jasper Meijer van Putten
Jasper Meijer van Putten

Jasper Meijer van Putten and Bryan Paris were heads-up on the {9-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop. There was already about 60,000 in the middle when Meijer van Putten put in a bet of 20,000 after Paris had checked to him. Paris opted to raise to 52,000 and Meijer van Putten called.

The turn was the {9-Clubs} and Paris checked to the 2016 EPT Prague Main Event champion again. This time he put in a bet of 90,000 and Paris thought about it. He eventually let go of his hand and Meijer van Putten showed {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

''I thought that was a good board for me'' said Paris to Meijer van Putten and the whole table started laughing.

Calderone Talks Himself into More Chips

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The full board of {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} was out between Eros Calderone and Oleksandr Sadovyi. Sadovyi had checked to Calderone who had bet enough to put his opponent all in.

Sadovyi had around 150,000 behind and was tanking.

"You are bluffing?" asked Sadovyi.

"No," replied Calderone, eliciting a swear from Sadovyi. "I think you play queen-jack," continued Calderone.

"I have queen-jack," said Sadovyi.

"Then you must call," said Calderone. "It's the best moment to double up or just lose."

At this moment, a third player in the hand tapped the table and then tapped his watch. "I have a flight," he said, and the table laughed.

Eventually, with less than ten seconds remaining, Sadovyi open-folded the {q-Clubs} with Calderone turning over the {9-Hearts} and taking down the pot.

Reard Rivers Li

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Alexandre Reard opened to 26,000 and got one caller. Jun Li then three-bet all in for 106,000. Reard flat-called and the other player got out of the way.

Alexandre Reard: {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Jun Li: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}

It was a flip, but the scary looking {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop gave Reard a world of outs. The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and the river {9-Spades} meant that Reard rivered a pair and Li was eliminated.
