The PokerStars European Poker Tour is ending in style after a record-breaking attendance for the EPT Barcelona Main Event, and the €10,300 EPT High Roller who generated 419 entrants at the end of Day 1 (including 103 re-entries). As Day 2 is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. local time, the number has the potential to continue to climb until the tournament gets going. Team Pro Daniel Negreanu is expected to join the battle at the start of play today.

Among the 419 entrants, 151 have bagged chips at then of yesterday's 11 blind levels to survive to Day 2. The American player Justin Ligeri, who recently finished 70th in the Main Event will kick off the day in the lead with 402,900. He is followed by Italian player Gianluca Speranza (373,500), Marc Macdonnell (365,000) and Daniel Neilson (358,000). The 2015 EPT Grand Final winner Adrian Mateos is also on the top stacks with 238,500.

Numerous notables made their way into Day 2 such as Will Kassouf (188,000), Jeff Groos (187,500), Bryn Kenney (140,000), Niall Farrell (154,00), Stephen Chidwick (130,000), Max Silver (110,000) or Alex Foxen (71,000) and 2012 EPT Berlin Champion Davidi Kitai (60,500).

The first level of Day 2 will be 1,000/2,500 with an ante of 2,500. Players can buy in till the start of play, in return for €10,300. At the start of day 2 each player will receive an additional three time bank cards of 30 seconds each. Similar to yesterday, 11 hour-long blind levels are scheduled with breaks after every two hours, including a 75-minute dinner break at the end of level 19.

The €100,000 Super High Roller third-place finisher now sits on just over average as we approach the end of the first level.

The turn fell a {a-Hearts} and Kassouf checked saying "I let you bluff!". Mateos checked as well.

A {j-Hearts} appeared on the river. "Bingo!" said Kassouf while checking. Mateos checked again and tabled {a-Spades}{7-Spades} for a pair of aces. "Easy game! Must be nice" told him Kassouf while Mateos was racking the pot with a smile.
