Grochulski Eliminated; Katz and Shafikov Double

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

An open seat was announced over on table one and Grzegorz Grochulski left the tournament area. According to Gary Hasson, Grochulski had defended out of the blinds and flopped two pair only for Hasson to look up his check-shove on the turn with an unbeatable set of jacks.

A similar big pot was played on table four on which Denys Shafikov scored a big double through Niklas Astedt. Shafikov flopped two pair on {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} out the big blind with {2-Hearts}{6-Hearts} against the overpair of Astedt, who held {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}. The {K-Diamonds} turn and the {2-Spades} river changed nothing anymore and Shafikov doubled with a full house.

Last but not least, Cary Katz was all in with the {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and table neighbor Bahram Chobineh looked him up with {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. There was an ace on the flop, but a queen followed on the turn.

Kenney Eliminated; Moss into Chip Lead

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Bryn Kenney got his remaining chips in with {j-}{k-} off-suit and was up against the {q-Hearts}{q-Spades} of Stephen Chidwick. The board came {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Kenney was eliminated.

Meanwhile, Matthew Moss had opened to 6,500 from under the gun and got calls from Valentin Robert, Cary Katz and Bahram Chobineh.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Chobineh checked to Moss who continued for 16,000. Robert used a time extension before raising to 55,000. Katz and Chobineh both folded and Moss called.

The turn was the {6-Clubs}. Moss checked and Robert used up another time extension before betting 80,000. Moss moved all in and Robert eventually folded.

Mateos More Than Doubles; Four Tables Remain

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

Within quick succession, Sam Greenwood, Wei Zhao and Simon Mattsson have all been eliminated on separate tables.

Zhao open-shoved for 29,500 first to act and Adrian Mateos reraised all in from one seat over for 90,500. Kenny Hallaert asked for a count and moved all in over the top for more than 200,000, which forced out everyone else at the table.

Wei Zhao: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}
Adrian Mateos: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Kenny Hallaert: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

"I would say keep it low," Hallaert joked in table chat just before the flop of {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} improved Mateos to a pair of aces. The {4-Clubs} turn left Zhao drawing dead, and the {A-Diamonds} on the river ensured the double up of Mateos through Hallaert.

Dario Sammartino checked a river of {q-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} to Bryn Kenney who bet 43,000 with around 80,000 in the middle already.

Sammartino used up a time bank before throwing in a single chip to call.

Kenney turned over {10-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a rivered pair and Sammartino took down the pot with {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for two pair, queens and aces.

Muradov Vanishes

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

The cards of Shakhabiddin Muradov were already in the muck while Bryn Kenney had {Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} in the small blind still tabled, having hit a queen-high flush on the turn of a board {K-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. According to Goran Mandic, Muradov had been all in with {A-}{Q-} and became the latest casualty.

Boeree Chips Up; Muradov Short

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Liv Boeree scooped a decent pot with pocket jacks against the jacks of Filipe Oliveira when her {J-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} hit a four card flush on the board of {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}.

One table over, Shakhabiddin Muradov is in trouble after falling down all the way to just 11 big blinds. In a recent hand he raised to 5,500 first to act and was called by Goran Mandic. On the {9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop both players checked and Mandic bet the {10-Hearts} turn for 8,000 to force a fold.

Grochulski's Stack Takes a Knock

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

With the board reading {3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and Grzegorz Grochulski bet 40,000 into around 65,000, putting opponent Gary Hasson to the test, who only had slightly more than that behind.

Eventually, Hasson called. Grochulski showed {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for bottom pair, while Hasson showed {5-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a set of fives and took down the pot.
