Ryan Riess is Putting His Money on Shaun Deeb

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Ryan Riess went to Twitter to ask if anyone wanted to bet ANY POKER PLAYER to win World Series of Poker 2019 POY over Shaun Deeb. He got one taker. Who did that person take? It's a must win bet and it may prove to be quite the sweat. Riess seems very confident that Deeb, who won WSOP POY 2018, can go back to back.

Seth Fischer knows the pain of poker

If you don’t know who Seth “SFisch04” Fischer is, that’s partially by design. Though he’s a PokerStars qualifier here at EPT Monte Carlo, he doesn’t maintain a PocketFives profile and says he enjoys flying under the radar. But it’s also partly chance. Had a single card fallen friendly in 2008, things might have been different.

Born and raised in Florida, Fischer was at college in Atlanta when he became one of the millions who picked up poker during the Moneymaker boom.

Dong Zhao opened to 1,000 and Koray Aldemir three-bet to 3,000 in the next position. Zhao then four-bet to 10,500 and Aldemir shoved.

Zhao called and was all in with {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} against the {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} of Aldemir. The flop {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{j-Clubs} gave Aldemir a gutshot, which he completed on the {10-Hearts} turn.

Zhao could still hit a flush to double, but the river was the {q-Spades} and he was eliminated.

Szecsi Fires Three Streets

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

On a flop of {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, the action was checked to Norbert Szecsi in the cutoff. Szecsi bet 2,000 into a pot of just under 4,000 and was called by Max Silver in the big blind and Thomas Boivin in the hijack.

The turn brought the {a-Spades} and both Silver and Boivin checked again. Szecsi fired another 7,000 which got Silver to fold but Boivin still called. The river was the {5-Spades} and Boivin checked one more time. Szecsi shoved all in for 23,100 and Boivin instantly mucked his cards.

Kempe's Two Pair Holds Up

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

With around 12,000 in the middle and the flop reading {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}, Tom-Aksel Bedell led out for 4,300 in the small blind. Andre Akkari called from middle position as did Rainer Kempe on the button.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and the action checked to Kempe who bet 5,500. Bedell called and Akkari got out of the way. The {2-Spades} on the river put four spades on the board which seized any further action. Bedell turned over {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} but Kempe flopped two pair with {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts} to claim the pot.

Meanwhile, Sean Winter was seen exiting the tournament area and Adrian Mateos was stacking his chips.
