Piquette Chips Up Through Suarez

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Anton Suarez opened the action with a raise to 4,500 and Jean-Philippe Piquette came along on the button. They checked through the {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop and Suarez bet the {q-Diamonds} turn for 6,000, Piquette called. No betting action followed on the {7-Diamonds} river and Suarez tabled the {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for king-high, Piquette claimed the pot with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a pair of queens.

Karmatckii Doubles Through Caballo

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Teun Mulder raised to 5,000 from the cutoff and the button folded. Small blind Arsenii Karmatckii moved all in for his last 58,500 and big blind Ori Caballo moved all in as well. Mulder got out of the way and they opened up.

Arsenii Karmatckii: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Ori Caballo: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out with a king on the flop and Caballo wasn't able to catch a queen on the turn or the river and Karmatckii doubled up.

Dandl's Chips Disappear

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer raised it up and then called the shove of a short-stacked Johannes Dandl for 29,000.

Dandl was all in with the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and O'Dwyer had one overcard with the {a-Spades}{10-Spades}. The {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop immediately improved O'Dwyer and the {4-Diamonds} turn and {2-Diamonds} river run out failed to keep Dandl in contention.

Kenney Needs No Showdown

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Bryn Kenney was in the hijack and pumped it up to 4,500. The player on the button called and Simon Brandstrom defended his big blind, and action went three-handed to the flop {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{3-Spades}. All three players checked.

The turn came {2-Hearts} and Brandstrom checked again. Kenney fired out 6,500 and the player on the button called. Brandstrom folded, bringing the river {k-Clubs}. Kenney thought for about 40 seconds and then threw out a bet. The dealer announced a total of 29,000, roughly the size of the pot, and the player on the button went into the tank for close to a minute before letting his cards go.

Kenney now finds himself just shy of a quarter-million nearing the midway point in Level 12.

Ladies Unkind to Istomin

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Aleksei Istomin was in the hijack and opened the action with a raise to 4,500. Gary Hasson three-bet him to 15,000 on the button, and Gleb Tremzin cold four-bet all in for 72,500 from the big blind. Istomin went all in as well, and Hasson requested Istomin's stack be counted. The number was 73,000, and Hasson deliberated for about 30 seconds before reluctantly folding.

Gleb Tremzin: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Aleksei Istomin: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Tremzin had no sweat on the runout as the board came {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Clubs} to earn him the double. Istomin was left with 500, which he was able to turn into 4,000 when he was under the gun, but was then all in from the big blind on the following hand and wound up eliminated from the tournament when all was said and done.
