Big Clash Between Houzvicek and Ved

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

In a three-bet pot, Matous Houzvicek bet 80,000 on a {9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop and Kartik Ved called. The turn was the {7-Clubs} and this time Houzvicek checked.

Ved bet 248,000 and Houzvicek called. The river was the {8-Clubs} and Houzvicek checked again. This time Ved moved all in for 457,000.

Houzvicek thought, asked for a count and eventually folded.

"Bad river," he said. "Maybe it saves me."

Would you believe me if I said that I had {10-Clubs}{j-Clubs}?" said Ved.

Cherba Out

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

It took back-to-back hands for Matous Houzvicek to knock out Bohdan Cherba. Cherba was extremely short when he moved all in on the button with jack-nine and he won the flip against Houzvicek's small blind call with pocket-eights.

The next hand Cherba got it in again, this time he was up to 85,000, or around 5.5 big blinds. Houzvicek was ahead this time with jack-nine suited against Cherba's seven-six suited and held.

After a stumble a couple of hours ago, the defending Champ is back up in the counts.

Bilokur Making Moves

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

With a board reading {7-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and 300,000 in the middle already, Leonid Bilokur checked to Daniil Kiselev who bet 180,000.

Bilokur then check-raised to 651,000. Kiselev had been in a couple of similar spots recently, and this time he let his hand go.

Yantsevich Out to Masliankou

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop was out and three players were still in. Yury Masliankou, who was sat in the big blind, checked and Valery Yantsevich in middle position also checked. Georgiy Komarov then bet 35,000 on the button and Masliankou upped it to 85,000. Yantsevich and Komarov both called and there was already a hefty pot in the middle and three players still in, going to the turn.

It came the {j-Hearts} and after Masliankou checked, Yantsevich moved all in. This got Komarov out of the way but not Masliankou.

Yury Masliankou: {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Valery Yantsevich: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

It was top two pair vs bottom pair and a flush draw and understandably, Yantsevich was visibly disappointed when the river fell the {3-Diamonds}, giving Masliankou the flush and the chips.

Houzvicek Extends Chip Lead

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Matous Houzvicek has won two recent 300,000 chip pots without showdown. In the latest, the board read {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and Mikhail Zavoloka checked to the defending champion who bet 325,000.

After a brief thought, Zavoloka folded and Houzvicek moved up to almost 1.5 million in chips.

The Changing Fortunes of Kanabekov

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Aidyn Kanabekov has had a rollercoaster of a day. He started off near the top, then dropped to the bottom and he has just found a double against Vasiliy Tsapko in a hand just now.

He moved all in for 191,000 and when Tsapko called, they found they were off to the races.

Aidyn Kanabekov: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Vasiliy Tsapko: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Kanabekov hit top pair and the flush draw on the {7-Spades}{q-Spades}{9-Spades} flop, putting him miles ahead at this point. The {8-Hearts} turn gave Tsapko a few more outs but none of them came on the {5-Hearts} river. Kabanekov stood up, took a photo of the hand and then did a little dance in celebration, right before the Tournament Director came over to break the table.
