Hanna Pushing His Stack Around

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

A player in middle position raised to 1,200 and the player in the next seat over three-bet to 3,500.

Action folded to Georges Hanna, who four-bet to 11,000.

The blinds got out of the way and both raisers followed them into the muck to give Hanna the pot.

Brosent Knocked Out by Christoforou

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

The cards were already on their backs when Dominik Brosent was the player at risk, looked up by Andreas Christoforou.

Dominik Brosent: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Andreas Christoforou: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

The Cypriot was behind but improved on the {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, then remained ahead on the {q-Spades} turn and {3-Diamonds} river.

"What did you have, pocket nines?" Christoforou asked Tomas Bauer, who nodded and replied "good read".

Sitbon Takes a Hit

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

After finding no fortune on Day 1a, Julien Sitbon took advantage of the single re-entry option and jumped into Day 1b. The start had been quite successful as he more than doubled the stack. However, almost all of the profit just evaporated after a clash with Jeremy Baldisseri.

It was Baldisseri who flopped best with {a-Spades}{5-Spades} from under the gun on the {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} board to beat the {k-Hearts}{10-Spades} of Sitbon for the full double.

Kuziv Takes from Reard with Ace-High

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

With 4,500 in the pot and and a flop of {k-Spades}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, Alexandre Reard checked from the small blind and Ivan Kuziv bet 1,600 from the big blind. Reard called and the turn was {j-Spades}.

Both players checked the turn and the {8-Diamonds} river. Reard turned over {a-Clubs}{6-Spades} for ace-high, but Kuziv turned over {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} to take the pot with the slightly better hand.

Reard is looking for momentum as he starts to fall short on Day 1b.

Brink Scores a Knockout

Level 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Frederik Brink
Frederik Brink

Sergio Coutinho raised it up from under the gun and the action folded all the way to Frederik Brink in the big blind. The former EPT Madrid champion glanced at the stack of his table neighbour which appeared to be just over 8,000 and moved all-in for Coutinho to call.

Sergio Coutinho: {a-}{k-}
Frederik Brink: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The pocket pair remained ahead throughout the {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop and the {2-Spades} turn. Brink then further improved to a full house on the {9-Diamonds} river and that spelled the end for Coutinho.

Rrapi Knocked Out by Darie

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

On a completed board of {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, Vlad Darie checked his option. Italy's Shefit Rrapi then moved all-in for 16,000, which was more than the size of the pot. The move sent Darie deep into the tank and after three minutes, he made the call.

Rrapi revealed the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of nines only and then gasped when Darie's {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a pair of queens were exposed.

Bou Habid turned over {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}, but Olluri showed {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} to take the pot with tens and fives.
