Newman Bricks Out on the River

Level 12 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Graeme Newman
Graeme Newman

Graeme Newman raised to 25,000 on the button and was called by Philip Sternheimer and Sam Greenwood in the blinds. The flop came {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and the action checked around to the {7-Hearts} on the turn.

Sternheimer led out with a bet of 36,000 and Greenwood called. Newman pushed his stack of 202,000 into the middle which got Sternheimer to fold but Greenwood called.

Newman was on a combo draw with {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts} while Greenwood was looking to fade the river with {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}. The river was the {j-Spades} and Greenwood's pair of tens held on to eliminate Newman.

Bedell Doubles Through Mateos

Level 12 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Tom-Aksel Bedell
Tom-Aksel Bedell

Adrian Mateos raised to 25,000 on the button and Tom-Aksel Bedell three-bet to 56,000 in the small blind. Mateos responded with a four-bet shove and Bedell called off his stack off 353,000.

"Bye-bye, see you next year," Bedell said as he dropped his stack of chips into the middle.

Tom-Aksel Bedell: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Adrian Mateos: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Bedell was in a dominating position and the board of {10-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs} changed nothing as he earned himself a double up to stick around a little longer.

Bedell Takes From Sternheimer

Level 12 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Action was heads up with well over 100,000 in the pot and a full board of {q-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} when Tom-Aksel Bedell bet 87,000. Philip Sternheimer went deep into the tank before he tossed in a single chip to call.

Bedell turned over {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs} to take the pot with pocket aces, while Sternheimer flashed {a-Diamonds} and mucked his other card.

The hand builds on a recent double for Bedell and furthers his advance up the leaderboard during the middle stages of Day 2.

Ace-High for Heath is Good

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Ben Heath raised to 35,000 from the hijack and Christoph Vogelsang re-raised to 95,000 from the small blind. Heath called and the dealer spread the flop of {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

Vogelsang continued with a bet of 45,000 and Heath called to see the {3-Hearts} on the turn. Vogelsang fired out another bet of 75,000 but Heath wouldn't go away yet.

The {q-Hearts} completed the board and Vogelsang checked this time. Heath checked it back and Vogelsang tabled {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Heath barely had that beat with {a-Spades}{10-Spades} and raked in the pot.

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Paul Phua
Paul Phua

Sam Greenwood raised to 38,000 from the cutoff and Paul Phua three-bet to 100,000 from the button. Action folded around and Greenwood shoved with more. Phua quickly called for over 500,000 and he was at risk.

Paul Phua: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Sam Greenwood: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Greenwood held on with pocket jacks to eliminate Phua from the tournament.

Volkmann Triples, Kisacikoglu Left Short

Level 13 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Bruno Volkmann
Bruno Volkmann

Orpen Kisacikoglu opened to 35,000 from under the gun and Bruno Volkmann jammed all in for 166,000 on the button. Henrik Hecklen flat-called from the big blind and Kisacikoglu came along as well.

The flop came {7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Hecklen led out with a bet of 90,000. Kisacikoglu called as the two players started to build their own side pot.

The turn brought the {10-Clubs} and Hecklen counted out a bet of 135,000. Kisacikoglu used a couple of time banks before calling again. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Hecklen ripped all in. Kisacikoglu had a decision to make for his remaining 267,000 chips and only had just over a minute to do so with only two time banks left.

After using both of them, Kisacikoglu finally mucked his cards as his clock was about to expire. Hecklen was awarded the side pot and showed {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}. However, Volkmann turned a set with {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and managed to stay alive with a triple-up.

Newey Falls on the River

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Paul Newey
Paul Newey

Juan Pardo raised to 32,000 on the button and Paul Newey put his short stack to work by shoving all in for 204,000 in the big blind. Pardo mulled it over for a moment and then called to put Newey at risk.

Paul Newey: {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Juan Pardo: {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The flop of {8-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} left Newey in the lead with his ace-high. The {q-Spades} on the turn changed nothing but the {k-Diamonds} on the river connected with Pardo and Newey was ousted.
