Thanarattrakul Gets Unlikely Double from Larsson

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Leif Larsson opened to 5,500 and Bassel Zebib flat-called on the button before Kannapong Thanarattrakul three-bet jammed a stack of around 15,000 from the small blind. Larsson four-bet with a much bigger stack and Zebib folded to get the hand heads-up.

Kannapong Thanarattrakul: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}
Leif Larsson: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Thanarattrakul was dominated and didn't get any help from the {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts} flop or {9-Diamonds} turn. However, the {7-Diamonds} arrived on the river right on schedule and gave a grin as he secured the unlikely double.

Larsson seemed hardly affected as he sits with a massive stack of around 320,000.

Marquez Chipping Up

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Ana Marquez
Ana Marquez

Ana Marquez just took down a pot preflop after moving all-in for around 37,000 after an opponent opened the action.

She now has around 45,000 and will need to find some run good for any hope of making Day 2.

Aces Cracked for Hysaj

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Eljano Hysaj
Eljano Hysaj

Andrei Grimberg opened to 7,000 from under the gun before Eljano Hysaj raised to 22,500 from the hijack.

Action folded back to Grimberg who put in the four-bet to 55,500 and Hysaj wasted little time moving all in for 125,000 and was snap-called by Grimberg who had the bigger stack.

Eljano Hysaj: {a-}{a-}
Andrei Grimberg: {k-}{k-}

The {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} silenced the table as Grimberg leapfrogged into the lead. The aces couldn't improve on the {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} runout and Hysaj busted the Eureka Main Event.

Royal Flush Runout Leaves Table 26 Stunned

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Table 26
Table 26

While the screams in the main tournament area earlier in the day were due to Croatia's victory over Brazil in the World Cup quarter-finals, the raucous cries heard just now were the result of something different that everyone at the table agreed they had never witnessed.

Three players at Table 26 saw a flop of {q-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Spades} that checked through to the {a-Spades} turn to put four to a Royal Flush on the board. Stanislavs Macugins bet out and only Gal Halevi called.

To the astonishment of everyone at and around the table, the dealer managed to peel off the one and only {10-Spades} on the river to put a Royal Flush on the board.

"One in ten million!" one of the players gasped.

"Is there a bad beat jackpot?!" joked another.

Neither player attempted to get the other off the mega-nuts and the two chopped the pot with Macugins holding {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} and Halevi holding {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Everyone at the table, including the dealer, said they had never seen such an improbable runout.

"Be sure to say I was at the table!" Oz Zitun told PokerNews.

Gullberg Busts; Kabrhel in Eureka Main Event

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Tobias Gullberg was all-in for his last 35,000 and at risk to Marc Grobety.

Tobias Gullberg: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Marc Grobety: {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

Gullberg was eliminated after the {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} runout.

On the table adjacent, Martin Kabrhel is in attendance with a below average stack.

Kerrien Crushes Kato

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Junichi Kato open-shoved a stack of around 25,000 from middle position and Clement Kerrien re-shoved a bigger stack behind him to get the hand heads-up.

Junichi Kato: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Clement Kerrien: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}

Unfortunately for Kato, his Big Slick was drawing thin against the aces of Kerrien and he was eliminated after the board ran out {9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

Limp Fest Ends in Shove Fest

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Gab Yong Kim
Gab Yong Kim

Sidney Opoong limped in from under the gun, with Gab Yong Kim doing the same on his direct left.

Marc Perini followed suit in middle position before Antonios Loupasis jammed for 21,000 from the button.

Matthias Auer then moved all in for 22,000 from the big blind.

Opoong folded before Gab Yong Kim shipped in his big stack, which was enough to get Perini out of the way.

Antonios Loupasis: {k-}{q-}
Matthias Auer: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Gab Yong Kim: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Auer was in great shape to triple up his stack and that's exactly what happened as his hand remained ahead following the {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Clubs} runout.

Zidonis Makes Flop Back-Jam

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action was caught on the {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop with 28,000 in the middle. Walter Coan bet 11,000 from under the gun and was called by Marius Zidonis from early position. Tonny Krijn, then raised to 36,500, from the button.

Coan went deep into the tank but eventually folded. With action on Zidonis, he put in the back jam as the bigger stack and put Krijn to the test. The latter eventually folded and awarded the pot to Zidonis.
