Aspas Bets Every Street Twice; Win One, Loses One

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Abel Aspas opened to 20,000 in early position and picked up one caller, Ionut-Flavius Voinea in middle position.

The flop showed up {8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Hearts}. Aspas continued for 20,000, and Voinea made the call.

The turn came the {a-Diamonds}. Aspas fired again, this time for 60,000. Once more, Voinea called.

On the {4-Clubs} river, Aspas emptied the clip with a final barrel of 140,000. Voinea let his cards go.

__________

On the next hand, Aspas opened to 20,000 from under the gun. He found two callers in the blinds, Parker Talbot in the small and Simon Lofberg in the big.

The dealer spread {3-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} on the table. Both blinds checked, Aspas continued for 18,000. Talbot called; Lofberg folded.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs}. Talbot checked again, and Aspas sized way up to 125,000. Again, Talbot went with the check-call line from out of position.

When the river fell the {5-Diamonds}, Talbot checked for a third time. For the second hand in a row, Aspas fired the third barrel, this one for 175,000. Talbot fought back, though. He check-raised all in, 480,000 effective.

Aspas went into the tank, he just got these chips. He ended up folding this one.

"Big hand?" asked a tablemate of Talbot.

"At least, that's what I was trying to say," he responded.

Milhomens Lands Two Punches

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Sonny Franco
Sonny Franco

After a couple of preflop raises, three players got all of their chips in the middle. Jorge Ufano was at risk for around 190,000, Sonny Franco started the hand with around 225,000, and Rui Milhomens had them both covered.

Jorge Ufano: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Sonny Franco: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Rui Milhomens: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

The dealer fanned the flop of {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Milhomens took the lead with a pair of aces. The {5-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing as Milhomens had the largest of the flush draws. The {k-Clubs} completed the board and Milhomens eliminated both of his opponents.

Benvenuto Can't Dodge Everything

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Yesset Aimukhanov raised to 22,000 on the button and Fabrizio Benvenuto ripped all in for 75,000 in the small blind. The big blind folded and Aimukhanov quickly called.

Fabrizio Benvenuto: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Yesset Aimukhanov: {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}

The flop fell {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Benvenuto still held the lead with his pocket sevens. The {3-Spades} on the turn gave Aimukhanov a couple of more outs and the {5-Clubs} on the river was one of them as he completed a straight to eliminate Benvenuto.

Break Time

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The field has dwindled down to just 76 players after the second level on Day 3. The remaining players are now heading on another 20-minute break and will return to a 10,000 big blind and ante.

Buhaiov Goes for River Value

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Nazar Buhaiov opened to 16,000 from under the gun and picked up three callers; Nicola Grieco on his left, Ihor Kaliahin in the hijack, and Alexandre Hocquaux in the big blind.

The flop showed up {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Hocquaux checked his option. Buhaiov continued for 17,000, and only Grieco made the call to go heads up to a turn.

That turn was the {5-Diamonds}. Both players checked to go to a river.

The final card was the {7-Clubs}. Buhaiov picked up the betting with a bet of 35,000. Grieco thought for about 20 seconds before making the call.

Buhaiov showed {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for top pair, and that was good enough to take down the pot.
