Seiji Snags a Pot Before the Break

Level 4 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, Mike Watson led out with a bet of 30,000 from the big blind into a pot of just under 100,000. Rodrigo Seiji called on his left and Gerard Pique folded the button.

The {2-Hearts} paired the board on the river and Watson pushed in a bet of 80,000. Seiji gave it some thought and then made the call. Watson tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for an over pair but Seiji had the better one with {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}.

The remaining players are now going on another 20-minute break.

Suvarna Makes a Straight, Grafton Eliminates Auzoux

Level 4 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Santhosh Suvarna
Santhosh Suvarna

Santhosh Suvarna raised it up on the button and Mikalai Vaskaboinikau reraised to 20,000 in the small blind. Suvarna called and the flop read {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. Vaskaboinikau led out with a bet of 20,000 and Suvarna called.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {q-Clubs} on the river. Vaskaboinikau flicked in a bet of 25,000 and Suvarna raised to 105,000. Vaskaboinikau looked him up and Suvarna tabled {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for the best hand.

At another table, there was a pot of over 150,000 with the board reading {q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. Sam Grafton checked from the big blind and Gregoire Auzoux shipped all in for 214,500. Grafton briefly thought before making the call.

Auzoux turned over {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a pair and a flush draw but needed to improve against the {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} of Grafton. It was the {j-Spades} on the river that only improved Grafton to two pair and Auzoux was bounced from the tournament.

Sam Greenwood opened to 4,500 from under the gun and Jean-Noel Thorel re-raised to 12,000 out of the big blind. Greenwood called and the dealer fanned the flop of {q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}.

Thorel continued with a bet of 10,500 and Greenwood called to see the {5-Hearts} on the turn. Thorel fired out another bet of 35,000 and Greenwood still called.

The {3-Diamonds} completed the board and Thorel jammed all in for 65,000. Greenwood quickly called and tabled {6-Spades}{5-Spades} for a full house. Thorel was forced to show his {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} before exiting the tournament area.

Aleksejs Ponakovs raised to 4,000 from under the gun and Elias Talvitie three-bet to 15,000 from a couple of seats over. Kent Staahle flat-called from the small blind and Ponakovs four-bet shoved all in for 68,000. Aleksejs Ponakovs: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Elias Talvitie: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Kent Staahle: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} and Ponakovs' aces held on for a triple up. Staahle managed to scoop the side pot and Talvitie was the first eliminated today.
