Ten Haven Bombs the River on Mateos

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Duco ten Haven raised to 7,000 from under the gun and Adrian Mateos re-raised to 22,000 on his left. The action folded back to Ten Haven who called to see a flop of {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Ten Haven checked to Mateos who bet 13,000 and Ten Haven called. The turn brought the {5-Spades} and both players checked to the {6-Diamonds} on the river. With four cards to a straight on the board, Ten Haven splashed in a large bet of 100,000. Mateos wasted little time before mucking and Ten Haven dragged in the pot.

Sixes are Good for Pique

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Elias Talvitie raised to 7,000 in early position and was called by Gerard Pique and Morten Klein. The flop came {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Talvitie continued with a bet of 11,000. Pique called and Klein got out of the way.

The turn was the {q-Diamonds} and Talvitie fired out another bet of 30,000. Pique quickly called and the {5-Clubs} completed the board. Both players knuckled the table and Talvitie turned over {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for queens and fives. Pique revealed {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for queens and sixes to rake in the pot.

Dvoress Runs Out a Flush

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Rodrigo Seiji raised to 7,000 in early position and was called by Steve O'Dwyer and Daniel Dvoress. They went to a flop of {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Seiji continued with a bet of 10,000. O'Dwyer called and Dvoress check-raised to 36,000 which got Seiji to fold but O'Dwyer still called.

The turn was the {j-Spades} which slowed the action as both players checked to the {2-Spades} on the river. Dvoress used a time bank and then tapped the table again. O'Dwyer checked it back and Dvoress turned over {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for a flush to scoop the pot.

Re-Entries and Chip Counts

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A completed board of {q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} was spread across the table with Dimitar Danchev and Aleksejs Ponakovs heads-up. There was around 35,000 in the middle and Danchev splashed in a bet of 100,000.

Ponakovs went into the tank for a minute before calling off his stack of around 45,000. Danchev tabled {4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for bottom two pair and Ponakovs was unable to beat it as he headed to the registration desk.

Pique Scores a Double

Level 6 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Gerard Pique - Daniel Dvoress
Gerard Pique - Daniel Dvoress

Pascal Lefrancois raised to 7,000 in the cutoff and Gerard Pique three-bet to 22,000 on the button. Daniel Dvoress stuck in a four-bet to 48,000 which got Lefrancois out of the equation. Pique five-bet jammed all in for 98,000 and Dvoress called it off.

Gerard Pique: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Daniel Dvoress: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Pique managed to spike the last queen in the deck on the {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Spades} flop to take a stranglehold on the hand. The {k-Clubs} on the turn gave Dvoress some outs but the {5-Clubs} on the river bricked out to give Pique a double-up.

Wild Ride for Thorel, Grafton the Beneficiary

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Fedor Holz was seen getting up from his seat as his pocket aces were cracked by Jean-Noel Thorel who turned a straight with jack-ten offsuit. Thorel built his stack up to around 330,000 but then disaster struck in the form of Sam Grafton.

The board read {q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Thorel tossed in a bet of 25,000 into a pot of around 60,000. Grafton check-raised to 85,000 and Thorel responded with a three-bet to 160,000. Grafton called and the {6-Diamonds} spiked the river.

Grafton checked and Thorel ripped all in for 142,000. Grafton snapped him off and tabled {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a rivered straight. Thorel sat in disbelief as he was forced to show {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for top pair, while Grafton apologized for the suckout.

"You don't have to win the tournament on Day 1," Duco ten Haven pointed out as Grafton built a seven-figure stack already.

Seiji Can't Squeeze Dvoress Out

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Steve O'Dwyer opened to 6,000 from under the gun and was called by Pascal Lefrancois on his left and Daniel Dvoress on the button. Rodrigo Seiji squeezed to 36,000 in the big blind which got both O'Dwyer and Lefrancois to fold. Dvoress, however, called to see a flop of {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

Seiji checked to Dvoress who bet 22,000 and Seiji called. The {4-Clubs} landed on the turn and both players checked to the {7-Diamonds} on the river. Seiji led out with a bet of 26,000 and Dvoress flicked in a chip to call. Dvoress flipped over {q-Spades}{10-Spades} for top pair which proved to be good enough to win the pot.

Holz Doubles, Grafton Barely Notices

Level 5 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 5,000 in middle position and Fedor Holz ripped all in for 26,500 on his left. Sam Grafton min-raised to 48,000 in the small blind which got Thorel to fold.

Fedor Holz: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Sam Grafton: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} providing no sweat to Holz who earned a small double-up. Grafton threw the three chips required across the table which hardly put a dent into his chip-leading stack.
