Quads for Bujtas; Volkmann Out

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Bruno Volkmann
Bruno Volkmann

Before the blinds went up, Laszlo Bujtas opened on the button and Bruno Volkmann defended the big blind.

The {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop saw Volkmann check-raise a bet of 4,500 up to 12,000. Bujtas called.

The duo checked the {7-Hearts} turn to the {7-Clubs} river, and the rest of Bujtas' 32,000 chips went into the middle.

Volkmann held {k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a boat, but it was no good as Bujtas revealed {a-Clubs}{7-Spades} for quads to take the pot, while Volkmann was left with only 4,000 chips.

On the next hand, Bujtas opened to 5,500 in the cutoff, Aleksejs Ponakovs flat-called on the button, Volkmann got his chips in, and Paul Phua defended the big blind.

The dealer fanned the {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop, action checked to Ponakovs who bet 4,500, and both opponents folded.

Bruno Volkmann: {q-Spades}{2-Spades}
Aleksejs Ponakovs: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Volkmann had flopped top pair but was still behind, and the {5-Diamonds} and {7-Hearts} completed the board to confirm his elimination.

Lefrancois Doubles Through Bujtas

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Pascal Lefrancois was all in and at risk for 80,000 against Laszlo Bujtas, who had him covered.

Pascal Lefrancois: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Laszlo Bujtas: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Lefrancois was able to win the flip as the board ran out {3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} to improve him to a full house for the double and to leave Bujtas riding fumes.

Petrone Jams Turn

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Picking up the action on a flop of {4-Hearts}{j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, Ramiro Petrone checked from the hijack and Adrian Mateos bet 11,000 from the cutoff. Petrone called.

Petrone checked again on the {7-Spades} turn and Mateos fired for 17,500. Petrone check-jammed a stack of around 50,000 and Mateos snap-folded.

Earlier at the same table, Michael Addamo busted after running a bluff against Stephen Chidwick in the final hand before dinner break.

Addamo Left With Dust After Bluffing into Chidwick's Aces

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Michael Addamo
Michael Addamo

Tom-Aksel Bedell opened to 4,500 in the cutoff, Stephen Chidwick three-bet to 13,000 on the button, and Michael Addamo cold four-bet to 32,000 in the small blind. Bedell folded and Chidwick called.

The dealer spread the {10-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop, Addamo led for 35,000, Chidwick called, and both players checked the {6-Spades} turn.

The {2-Hearts} completed the board and Addamo moved all in. Chidwick snap-called for his 99,000 chips and flipped over {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}. Addamo sighed in disappointment as he flashed his {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and was left with a single pink T-500 chip. Chidwick, meanwhile, took the chip lead with the hand, and the remaining players went on dinner break.

Cooler and a Casualty at Table 1

Level 12 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Tom Orpaz
Tom Orpaz

A massive cooler took place at Table 1 before the dinner break as Kitson Kho and Pedro Garagnani were both all in and at risk against Tom Orpaz, who had the two covered.

"This could be a double knockout!" Orpaz said.

Kitson Kho: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Pedro Garagnani: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Tom Orpaz: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Garagnani had the best of it and the flop of {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds} didn't change things, and the {8-Diamonds} on the turn had Kho drawing dead and Orpaz rooting in vain for a queen as the {2-Clubs} peeled off on the river. Kho was eliminated as Garagnani scooped the main and side pots and Orpaz was left with a short stack.

"Dealer, you're sick!" Orpaz lamented.
