Moreno Shows the Goods

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On a heads-up turn of {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{4-Spades}, small blind Ruben Moreno checked to Mourad Tounnouti in late position, who then placed a bet of 11,500.

Moreno then tried to check-raise Tounnouti to 20,000, but the dealer pointed out that it had to be 23,000 for a min-raise. Moreno obliged and put out the 23,000, which Tounnouti called.

On the {9-Spades} turn, Moreno shipped for 41,300, putting the pressure on Tounnouti. After a good session in the tank, he flashed the {a-Hearts} and mucked.

"Good fold, man," Moreno assured him as he turned over {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for top-two pair.

Re Coolers Madsen

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Ramiro Petrone opened to 2,200 in the hijack and was called by Gabriele Re in the cutoff. Jakob Madsen then moved all in for 20,400 from the big blind.

Petrone quickly folded, but Re gave his decision some thought. After about a minute, he chose to make the call and put Madsen at risk.

Jakob Madsen: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Gabriele Re: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Madsen had Re dominated, and the {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop seemed harmless enough. The {8-Clubs} turn however brought Re additional outs in the form of a gutshot straight draw, which came in on the river with the {7-Diamonds} to send the Dane to the rail in rough fashion.

Maria Lampropulos: {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

Hu Runs Kings into Garcia's Aces

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

John Luke Kelly opened for 3,200 from under the gun and Lulei Hu went all in for 9,300 from early position. Cesar Garcia called from the button and Kelly came along for the ride as well.

The flop came {6-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}. Garcia put out a bet and Kelly quickly folded.

Lulei Hu: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Cesar Garcia: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Hu must have thought he was in decent shape but Garcia turned over aces and Hu was chasing just two winning outs and potential chops.

The {2-Spades} turn meant the players would chop the pot with a four.

However, the river was the {6-Clubs} and Hu was eliminated.

Davlet Eliminates Hamel

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Francesco Lo Faso raised to 2,300 in early position, which was called by a very short-stacked Jaromir Hamel, which put him all-in. Eldos Davlet called behind in the hijack.

On the {9-Spades}{k-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, Lo Faso checked and Davlet bet 3,500. Lo Faso folded to leave Davlet to finish off Hamel.

Jaromir Hamel: {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Eldos Davlet: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Davlet's pair of nines had topped Hamel's pocket fives, and after the {j-Diamonds} turn and {a-Spades} river, Hamel was the latest player to exit the tournament area.
