Gicovanu Check-Rasing All In

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Alexandru Gicovanu opened to 1,300 under the gun and Peter Kvisthammar three-bet to 3,800 from the button. Action folded back to Gicovanu who added the remainder to call.

On a flop of {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, Gicovanu check-called a bet of 3,200 from Kvisthammar.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and Gicovanu checked again. Kvisthammar continued with another bet of 9,500, but this time, Gicovanu responded by check-raising all in for about 85,000. Kvisthammar went deep into the tank for a few minutes, then sent his hand to the muck.

Kassouf Coolered

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Will Kassouf
Will Kassouf

William Kassouf just passed the PokerNews live reporting desk to share the details of his brutal elimination.

After he raised to 1,800 in early position, Kassouf was called by a player in middle position, then Harun Ertural jammed for approximately 30,000, which covered Kassouf's remaining 25,500.

Kassouf happily called and the middle position player folded.

William Kassouf: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Harun Ertural: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Kassouf had Ertural crushed and was looking good after the {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{j-Spades} flop.

Things looked even better for Kassouf after the {q-Clubs} on the turn gave him a set of queens.

But the {10-Spades} on the river gave Ertural an unlikely straight, filling his turned gutshot to send Kassouf to the rail.

Kassouf mentioned he'd be grabbing a bite to eat before using his one reentry.

With about 8,600 in the pot, the board read {3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Jeremy Saderne checked from the cutoff over to Cantea Marian-Catalin on the button, who bet 5,100. Saderne made the call.

On the {3-Hearts} river, which put four hearts on the board, both players were content with checking.

Marian-Catalin turned over {a-Spades}{j-Spades} but it was no good, falling to Saderne's {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Sebastian Malec

Approximately 18,500 was in the middle on a turn board of {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} with Sam Grafton in the big blind and Sebastian Malec in the cutoff.

The PokerStars Ambassador checked to the 2016 EPT Barcelona champion, and Malec put out a bet of 6,000, which Grafton called.

On the river {9-Diamonds}, Grafton quickly checked again and after some deliberation, Malec opted to check back.

Grafton showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for top pair with a ten kicker, but he was just pipped by Malec's {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for top pair with a jack kicker, leaving Grafton with just above two-thirds of his starting stack.
