Wang Cracks Lijo's Aces to Stay Alive

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Michael Wang
Michael Wang

Michael Wang opened to 35,000 on the button and Lander Lijo three-bet to 90,000 in the big blind. Wang thought about his decision before moving all in for approximately 340,000, and Lijo snap-called.

Michael Wang: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Lander Lijo: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Wang was in rough shape against the pocket rockets as the cameras surrounded the table to catch the runout. The dealer fanned out the {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop to give Wang a bit of hope with a gutshot draw, and the {10-Hearts} was put down onto the felt on the turn to instantly secure his double with a straight.

The meaningless {3-Clubs} completed the board and Wang survived on the fortunate runout, while Lijo's aces were cracked and the Spaniard was left with around ten big blinds.

Mosca Cracks Cowboys

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Enrico Mosca opened to 30,000 from middle position and it folded to Sergi Panella Navarro on the button who three-bet to 90,000, which Mosca called.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Mosca check-called a bet of 75,000. On the {8-Hearts} turn both players elected on a check to the {3-Spades} river.

Mosca decided to lead out for 80,000, and without much thought, Navarro made the call. Mosca rolled over {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a flush and with a look of frustration, Navarro tabled {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for a flopped set that was no longer the winning hand.

Bruno Volkmann and Maria Lampropulos were heads-up on a board of {5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Spades} when Volkmann bet 55,000 from the big blind.

Lampropulos then verbalized a raise to 150,000 and Volkmann paused for a moment before calling. The river came the {2-Clubs} and Volkmann checked to Lampropulos, who moved her last 500,000 in the middle.

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Ryan Yu opened to 40,000 from the cutoff and Torben Sorensen jammed for 100,000 on the button. Yu called.

Torben Sorensen: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}
Ryan Yu: {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Yu stayed ahead on the {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, but the {10-Clubs} turn vaulted Sorensen ahead, and the {8-Hearts} river confirmed his double. Sorensen moved all in on the next hand and received folds to collect the blinds as well.

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Marcelo Simoes
Marcelo Simoes

Marcelo Simoes bet 200,000 on a board of {5-Clubs}{9-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Scott Margereson called on the button.

The river came the {j-Spades} and Simoes shoved for his last 350,000, with Margereson snap-calling. Simoes showed {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for two pair, but Margereson had {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for the turned flush.

Simoes, who won EPT Monte Carlo three months ago, was sent to the rail as Margereson climbed to around 2,400,000.

"Final table stack," a tablemate told Margereson after Simoes made his exit.

"No. Not even close," Margereson replied.
