Big Blind Special

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

On a heads-up turn board of {9-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} Dorian Melchers in the big blind checked to under-the-gun player Pierre Mounic, who then proceeded to bet 16,000. Melchers called and the two went to the river {q-Clubs}.

Both players opted to check and Melchers confidently flipped over his {9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of nines. Mounic shook his head and showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} before he threw them into the muck, awarding Melchers the pot.

Kovalski Emerges from Cooler De Classico

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Marc Monllao and Fabiano Kovalski got it all in preflop in a classic cooler: Monllao's {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} versus Kovalski's {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, with Monllao at risk.

Although Monllao was a huge favorite, the board runout of {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{10-Clubs} gave Kovalski a bigger full house, eliminating Monllao in brutal fashion.

Cifuentes Scores The Knockout

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

In a pot of 22,000 on a flop of {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Luiz Antonio Duarte Ferreira Filho checked from the big blind and Guillermo Gordo Cifuentes bet 6,500 from early position. Filho check-raised to 15,000 and Cifuentes quickly moved all in for roughly 130,000. Filho called for his remaining 40,000 and the hands were tabled.

Luiz Antonio Duarte Ferreira Filho: {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Guillermo Gordo Cifuentes: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Cifuentes got it in ahead against the worse kicker of Filho. The board ran out {q-Hearts} and {5-Diamonds}, which scored the knockout for Cifuentes and sent Filho to the rail.

Pichierri Gets Called Down

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Marle Spragg opened to 6,500 from early position, was then called by Alessandro Pichierri in middle position and Jonathan Bitton in late position.

The flop was {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Spragg checked to Pichierri, who bet 7,000 which was called around. The turn brought the {4-Spades} to pair the board and again Spragg checked to Pichierri who continued for 20,000. Bitton called and Spragg got out of the way.

On the river both players checked the {5-Diamonds} and Pichierri showed {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a pair of fours with an ace but then Bitton tabled {9-Spades}{10-Spades} for two pair to win the substantial pot.

Houghland Finds Bullets Against Cowboys

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

All the chips went in preflop as Steven Houghland moved all in for 36,500 from middle position and Faustus Korn moved all in as well next to act with only 2,000 more. The rest of the table got out of the way and the hands were shown.

Steven Houghland: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Faustus Korn: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

It was the ultimate cooler for Korn as he ran his cowboys into the aces of Houghland. The board ran out {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Spades} and the aces held for Houghland. Korn was left with less than one big blind and would bust a couple of hands later.
