Fonseca and D'Anselmo Have the Same Hand...Until the River

In a blind versus blind battle, Jesse Cesar Fonseca bet 1,500 on a board of 9J57 and Nicola D'Anselmo raised to 4,800.

Fonseca called to the 2 river, where D'Anselmo led out for another 5,700. Fonseca snap-called and D'Anselmo turned over 108 for a straight.

Fonseca also had 108, but he had rivered a flush to win the big pot and leave D'Anselmo shaking his head after the hand.

Saout Gets Some Chips Back

Antoine Saout had dropped down to below 20,000 early on Day 1b before tangling in a three-way pot that also included Kemal Aslan.

There was already around 4,000 in the middle on a flop of K47 when Saout bet 1,600 from the cutoff. Aslan called in early position and the turn came the 6.

Aslan checked over to Saout, who bet 3,500 this time. Aslan quickly folded and Saout got a much-needed boost to his stack.

[Removed:618] checked on the flop of AQA and Mariani checked back. [Removed:618] then bet 1,200 on the 7 turn and Mariani folded.

Aksu Gets Aggressive

Osman Aksu three-bet to 1,000 and was called by Antonino Venneri in the big blind, as well as Thomas Syversen in the cutoff.

The flop came 4A7 and action checked to Syversen who tossed out a bet of 800. Venneri quickly folded.

Aksu, though, came back with a raise to 2,100.

"Show the bluff," Syversen asked as he tanked for about 30 seconds before giving up his hand.

After Day 1a of the €5,300 EPT Barcelona Main Event ended, there was a table with two players still competing. It was the heads-up between Kayhan Mokri and Jean-Noel Thorel on Day 2 of the €100,000 EPT Super High Roller.

Despite starting the final duel with only half of Thorel's stack, Mokri came back and secured the first-place prize of €750,960.

A few hours after this victory, Mokri took his seat for Day 1b of the Main Event. Felipe Ketzer, who played in the €100,000 EPT Super High Roller too, also arrived.

Salim Mamouni opened to 300 first-to-act and was called by Mark Teltscher directly behind him and Keith McIntosh from the small blind.

McIntosh checked to Mamouni on the QAJ flop, and he continued for 700. Teltscher folded and McIntosh called.

The 4 came on the turn, and McIntosh led out for 1,100, which Mamouni called.

McIntosh went back to check on the 8 river and Mamouni bet 2,500. McIntosh called, and Mamouni tabled AQ for two pair.

"I also had two pair," McIntosh said as he slid his cards into the muck.

After filming himself for his social media, Nacho Barbero was in the big blind and called an open to 300 by Alan Ferraro in the cutoff.

On the flop 810Q, Barbero called a continuation-bet of 300. Then, both players checked on the turn Q.

The 8 came on the river. Barbero took the lead and bet 500. After a few seconds, Ferraro eventually called. Barbero showed 76 for a missed straight flush draw, and Ferraro revealed 86 for a full house.

Ramon Colillas, Kent Roed, and Rania Nasreddine were three-handed on a board of 7Q26 when Roed bet 500 from middle position.

Nasreddine folded her big blind, but Colillas called in early position to see the 3 river. Roed then bet another 1,000 and Colillas quickly flicked in a chip to call.

Roed showed 1010 for a flush and Colillas mucked. Nasreddine admitted she folded two nines with a heart after the hand.
