Set For Vatti

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

From the hijack, Loukiana Vatti opened to 1,800, and was only called by Marle Spragg in the big blind.

Both players checked on the flop 6103. Then on the turn Q, Vatti bet 2,500. Spragg quickly check-called, and checked on the river 9. Vatti seemed to hesitate between check or bet. "I have a set, but I'm afraid of the flush," she said before checking-back.

Spragg didn't have the flush, so Vatti could show 66 and take the pot.

Shmelev Doubles Up With Kings

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

From early position, Ilia Shmelev opened to 1,600, and was called by Christopher Mouawad in the small blind.

But on the flop 693, Mouawad took the lead and bet 3,000. A few seconds later, Shmelev raised to 8,000. Mouawad then moved all in, and Shelve called with the smallest stack (17,700).

Ilia Shmelev: KK
Christopher Mouawad: A9

Mouawad had top pair, but he ran into Shmelev's kings. So after the turn 4 and the river J, Shmelev doubled up.

Chernokoz Gets In His Last Chips, Angelov Wonders What Could've Been

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Andrei Chernokoz was down to his last 3,400 and moved all in from the small blind as Bekir Sivritepe and Boris Angelov came along from early position and the cutoff, respectively.

The flop came 910K and Sivritepe led out for 3,000. Angelov folded instantly.

Andrei Chernokoz: KQ
Bekir Sivritepe: Q10

Chernokoz was ahead with his pair of kings until the turn brought the 10, giving Sivritepe trips. The river came the 4 and Chernokoz was eliminated.

"I was actually beating you. Pocket fours," Angelov said after the hand.

"That would've hurt," Sivritepe replied.

Malay Nearly Doubles As Serafimov Gets Admonished

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Elvira Malay
Elvira Malay

Sergey Serafimov opened to 2,000 in middle position and Elvira Malay three-bet to 4,100 in the cutoff. Serafimov called.

Serafimov checked on the flop of 7A4 and Malay continued for 7,000. Serafimov called. Serafimov checked on the 8 turn and Malay checked back.

Serafimov checked again on the K river and Malay bet 15,000. Serafimov check-raised with a stack of blue chips that ended up being 50,000 as Malay moved all in for 55,000.

There was then some confusion as Serafimov waited for Malay to show KK for a set of kings before mucking his hand and refusing to surrender the additional 5,000.

The floor was called and ruled that Serafimov did not owe the 5,000 but admonished him as Malay argued that Serafimov would never fold for 5,000 more. Still, Malay looked happy to take the 50,000 and the rest of the pot for a near double.

Kowalczyk Eclipses Sun on the River

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Three-handed on a flop of 8KK, Yujie Sun bet 2,000 from early position and Allan Sannier called in the cutoff, as did big blind Maciej Kowalczyk.

The turn came the 10 and Sun bet another 6,000. Sannier folded, but Kowalczyk stuck around to see the 5 river.

Kowalczyk then led out with an all-in shove and Sun agonized over the decision for a minute before sliding in his last 12,000. Kowalczyk turned over 55 for a rivered full house and Sun went to muck his cards before the dealer exposed his KJ.

Oikonomidis Sent Out By Nittolo

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

On the first hand back from break, Panagiotis Oikonomidis moved all in for 28,000 from the small blind and Dario Nittolo called on the button.

Panagiotis Oikonomidis: AQ
Dario Nittolo: AK

The 838 flop left open the possibility of a chop, but Nittolo spiked the K on the turn to leave Oikonomidis drawing dead and heading for the exit by the time the 2 fell on the river.
