Tarmi Doubles Up With Aces

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Roope Tarmi raised to 35,000 from early position, leaving just 3,000 behind. Action folded around to Eros Calderone, who moved all in. Tarmi called for his last few chips. Crowds gathered and players flipped their cards:

Roope Tarmi: {a-Clubs}{a-Clubs}
Eros Calderone: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Tarmi had pocket aces and Calderone had a long way to go to catch up. The board came {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Tarmi's aces held and he doubled up.

The bubble continues...

Kim The Latest Bubble Double

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Soo Jo Kim was down to just 10,000 and was forced all in from the big blind. Simeon Naydenov called on the button and Alberto Landgraf folded in the small blind, leading to several groans from those at the table and spectators.

"You almost gave him a walk," Naydenov said as he shook his head.

"I would have called if you didn't," Landgraf replied. "I didn't want him to triple up. Obviously I had a real sh*t hand."

Soo Jo Kim: {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Simeon Naydenov: {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}

Kim had his opponent dominated and doubled to stay alive as the board ran out {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. A call from Landgraf likely wouldn't have changed anything as he claimed after the hand to have folded {5-}{4-}.

The remaining 64 players have been sent on another 20-minute break. The plan is to play three more levels when they return and then players will bag for the evening.

Vranken Doubles On Bubble With Aces

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Jenya Gavrilovich opened to 16,000 on the button and Antoine Vranken three-bet jammed a stack of 83,000 from the big blind. Gavrilovich called with a bigger stack for a short stack to once again be at risk on the bubble.

Antoine Vranken: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Jenya Gavrilovich: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Vranken was far in front with aces and the flop of {a-Spades}{6-Spades}{k-Hearts} gave him a set to have Gavrilovich drawing to just a few runner-runners. The {3-Diamonds} turn gave the Dutchman a lock on the hand before the {10-Diamonds} river and he survived to see another hand.

Tomovic Survives Two Big Blind Bubble Shove

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Aleksandar Tomovic went all in from under the gun for his last 16,000 chips, just two big blinds. He was called by Roman Hrabec. When all other hands around the room had been dealt, it was time for players to show their cards for the all in.

Aleksandar Tomovic: {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Roman Hrabec: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. Tomovic paired up and by the river had improved to a full house. Again, groans rang out from spectators who were waiting to make the money. Another double-up on the bubble, this time for Tomovic.

Stephen Song: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Ferreira Doubles On The Bubble

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Rui Neves Ferreira
Rui Neves Ferreira

Martin Jacobson opened to 16,000 in the hijack and Rui Ferreira three-bet to 44,000 on the button. Jacobson four-bet ripped and Ferreira dipped into the tank for a bit.

"I'm probably calling," Ferreira said before using four time banks and finally calling off his stack of 336,000. "I have the worst hand I can have."

Martin Jacobson: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Rui Ferreira: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{a-Clubs}. The flop gave Ferreira a pair of kings and both players paired their ace on the river. Ferreira took it down with top two pair and doubled up, much to the dismay of onlookers who were hoping the bubble would burst.

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Action was caught on the {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts} completed board with around 250,000 in the middle.

Christian Pedersen, with 248,000 behind, checked. Petar Kalev then jammed as the bigger stack and was quickly called.

Kalev had ten-high with his {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} while Pedersen had a flush with his {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.
