Beresford Chips Up With Trips

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Conor Beresford
Conor Beresford

Conor Beresford raised from middle position. He was called by Viacheslav Goryachev on the button and Nikita Kuznetsov in the big blind.

Three players went to the flop, which came {8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. Kuznetsov checked. Beresford bet 9,000, Goryachev called and Kuznetsov vacated the pot.

The turn was the {5-Clubs} and Beresford slowed down with a check. Goryachev bet 13,000 and Beresford called. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Beresford checked again and Goryachev also checked back.

Beresford showed {9-Spades}{7-Spades}. The flop had given him a pair of nines and he'd made trips on the river, checking down for pot control and to induce bets from his opponent. He scooped the pot and currently sits just outside the top ten chip counts.

Miscikowski Eliminates Kolev

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Boris Kolev was all in and at-risk against the bigger-stacked David Miscikowski to his right.

Boris Kolev: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
David Miscikowski: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Kolev had his opponent dominated until the flop landed {10-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} to give Miscikowski a big lead and nothing changed on the runout of {2-Hearts}{q-Spades} to mark Kolev's elimination.

Holz' Read is Wrong

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

There was around 120,000 in the pot on the {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs} board.

Kazuhiko Yotsushika was under the gun and bet 75,000. His opponent was the formidable Fedor Holz, who had around 136,000 behind.

He used up two time bank cards before folding.

"I think you're bluffing," said Holz.

Yotsushika was not getting out of line as he exposed his {q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} to show he had flopped the king-high straight.

"Queen-jack again!" shouted one of his tablemates.
