Silva Eliminated After Ace King Busted

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Matius Arosuo raised to 8,000 from the hijack and Alexandre Reard went all in from the small blind. Eduardo Amaral Silva called in the big blind. Arosou folded and two players flipped their cards.

Eduardo Amaral Silva: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Alexandre Reard: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Reard came back from a long way behind when he paired up his queens on the flop, but Silva still had a flush draw on the board. He didn't find any help on the turn or river, and Silva busted out.

Assorted Counts in the Field

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Ruslan Rishko opened to 8,500 from the cutoff and Martin Jacobson then moved all-in for 86,500 on the button. Massou Cohen seemed interested out of the big blind and inquired about an exact count, but ended up folding.

Rishko mulled it over for a couple of seconds and called to find himself ahead in the following showdown.

Martin Jacobson: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Ruslan Rishko: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Clubs} board let the kicker play and that spelled the end for Jacobson.

"I would have hit with six-seven, but I was afraid of you ... he kept going all-in," Cohen told Rishko in French in table chat while the latter was busy stacking up the chips.

You Reap What You Sow

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Kalidou Sow
Kalidou Sow

Michael Rodrigues open-jammed for the 35,000 he had behind from an early position. One opponent after the other folded except for Kalidou Sow in the big blind, who checked his cards and then made the call after some five seconds.

Michael Rodrigues: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Kalidou Sow: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

The {7-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Spades} flop left Rodrigues in dire shape and the {j-Diamonds} turn ended his tournament. Sow then further improved to the nut flush with the {5-Spades} river to score the knockout in style.

Veldhuis Doubles Through Ribeiro

Level 15 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Carlos Ribeiro open-jammed out of the small blind into the big blind of Lex Veldhuis, who called it off for the 43,500 he had behind.

Lex Veldhuis: {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Carlos Ribeiro: {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

While Ribeiro was ahead preflop, that all changed with the {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop as the PokerStars ambassador improved to trips. The {2-Clubs} turn locked up the double and the {a-Spades} river was too little too late for Ribeiro.

The river came the {10-Clubs}. Pais checked for once more and this time Pais put out a large bet of around 80,000. Pais thought for a while before chucking his hand in the muck.

Smolka Chips Up; Czerwieniec Gets a Shove Through

Level 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Chip leader Aleksandr Shevliakov raised to 7,000 and was called by Krzysztof Czerwieniec in the big blind. The {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop brought the near-instant shove by Czerwieniec and Shevliakov quickly folded.

In the same tournament area, another heads-up pot unfolded in which Jeremy Saderne had defended the big blind against Dawid Smolka from under the gun. They got to the {j-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts} river and Saderne checked. Smolka bet 28,000 to send his table neighbour deep into the tank and the clock was called on Saderne.

With three seconds remaining on the 30-second countdown, Saderne folded and Smolka collected the pot without showdown, too.
