Derwiche Runs into Aces, Then Loses Another

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Imad Derwiche
Imad Derwiche

There was an open to 2,000 before Imad Derwiche three-bet to 10,000 from the button. Jan Bednar called off his short stack from the big blind, and the original raiser folded.

Jan Bednar: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Imad Derwiche: {k-}{k-}

It was the ultimate preflop cooler for Derwiche but a delight for Bednar. The {5-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Clubs} runout ensured the aces remained ahead.

The very next hand, more chips escaped Derwiche's stack. He opened to 1,500 from the cutoff and then called when Pierre Gineste made it 4,500 from the button.

The {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop checked through to the {8-Diamonds} turn. Derwiche bet 5,000 but folded when Gineste made it 11,000.

Sow Bluffs Big, Talvard Sniffs It Out

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

With 12,500 chips already in the middle and a board reading {10-Hearts}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts}, Kalidou Sow put in an overbet of 18,000 from the button after a check from under-the-gun player Antoine Talvard.

Talvard was thinking for a while before the clock was called on him. The floorman came over, but before the countdown had finished, Talvard made the call.

Sow could not show more than king-high with {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}, while Talvard showed {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} for the successful bluff catch.

Marques Rivers a Chop

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Adrien Amorella opened to 1,000 from under the gun and was called by Juan Segarra on his left. Andre Marques stuck in a three-bet to 3,500 in the hijack and both players called.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and the action checked to Marques who bet 6,000. Amorella called and Segarra stepped aside. The turn brought the {5-Hearts} and both players checked to the {6-Clubs} on the river.

With a straight on the board, Amorella jammed all in and Marques quickly called. Amorella tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Marques showed {a-Spades}{4-Spades} which meant both players played the board.

Celso Sees Off Labat and Alt

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante
Dinesh Alt
Dinesh Alt

There was a three-way all in on Table 14, with Dinesh Alt and Antoine Labat at risk to Luis Celso. The cards were already on their backs as Alt had committed his short stack from the big blind while Labat was all in for 38,000 from middle position. Celso was in the small blind.

Dinesh Alt: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Antoine Labat: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Luis Celso: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Labat was in great shape to bust Alt while getting a double through Celso.

The kings were ahead on the {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop and {q-Clubs} turn. However, the {4-Clubs} river put a fourth club on the board to give Celso a flush and the winning hand.

The very next hand, Yury Masliankou opened to 1,200 from middle position before Clement Genon three-bet to 4,000 from the hijack. Celso called from the button and Masliankou opted to fold.

On the {j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} flop, Genon continued for 5,000 and Celso open-folded his {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} to show he had picked up pocket tens in consecutive hands.

Alexandre Rabusseau: {q-}{q-}
Elie Nakache: {k-}{k-}

The board ran out {a-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Rabusseau had to vacate the table, while Nakache is sitting on a healthy stack.

Sitbon Stays on the Gas

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Jose Lopez raised to 1,200 under the gun and was called by Felix Bleixer on his left. Julien Sitbon reraised to 5,100 on the button and both Lopez and Bleiker called.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and the action checked to Sitbon who bet 4,200. Lopez went into the tank for nearly two minutes before dishing out a raise to 10,200. Bleiker got out of the way and Sitbon countered with a reraise to 20,000. Lopez went into the tank again before the clock was called and he eventually ran out of time.

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

Tobias Peters and Roman Hrabec were heads-up on the river with the board reading {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Peters checked from the big blind and Hrabec shipped all in on the button with around 23,000 in the middle.

Peters dipped into the tank for a couple of minutes before calling off his stack of 16,200. Hrabec rolled over {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a missed flush draw while Peters tabled {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} to double-up.
