Final Starting Flight of FPS Main Event Kicks Off at Noon

The inaugural PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris stop at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile continues today with Day 1c of the French Poker Series (FPS) €1,100 Main Event, which gets underway at 12 p.m. local time.

The survivors of today's flight will join the 179 survivors from Day 1a and 65 survivors from Day 1b, including France's Jean Labryga and the United States' Joey Weissman, who bagged the chip leads in their respective flights.

Other big stacks who advanced to Day 2 include French natives Steeve Sultan, Alan Ouegoasd and Damien Luis, Armenian Vardan Zakaryan and American Michael Rocco.

Some notables who will be in the Day 1c field include Gaelle Baumann, Alexandre Reard, Tom Vogelsang, Conor Beresford, Danut Chisu, Chris Da Silva, Nils Pudel and PokerStars Ambassador Ramon Colillas.

Following the same format as the previous two flights, Day 1c will kick off with blinds of 100/100/100 and will play for 14 levels lasting 40 minutes in duration. There will be a 20-minute break after Levels 3, 6, and 8, and players will take a 75-minute dinner break after Level 11.

With registration already closed for the event, prize pool information should be available early in the day.

Early Shove Wins it for Steifers

Francois Charles Scapula was out of position in a heads-up pot against Marius Steifers with the board reading {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}.

Scapula bet 11,000 on the river for around a pot-sized bet and Steifers pushed his stack out for an all-in raise. Scapula gave it some thought and folded to earn Steifers the early pot.

Fountoukidis Raises Wang

Michael Wang opened to 300 from the hijack and Kimon Fountoukidis called on the button, while the big blind also came along.

Wang continued for 400 when checked to on the flop of {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and only Fountoukidis called. Wang sized up to 800 on the {8-Hearts} turn and Fountoukidis again called.

The {10-Clubs} river completed the board and Wang fired a third barrel of 2,000. Fountoukidis raised to 5,500 and Wang laid it down.

Action was caught on the turn with 10,000 in the middle on the {q-Spades}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts}{j-Hearts} board.

Clement Hoang checked from the small blind before Payam Ansarian bet 5,400 from under the gun. Hoang called.

The {8-Spades} river checked through to showdown and Hoang tabled his {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Ansarian conceded the pot.
