Shen Jams with Fives

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Thijs Dirkzwager opened to 24,000 from early position and was called by Han Shen from the cutoff. Andreas Frohli then three-bet to 90,000 and only Shen called.

Shen check-called for 65,000 on the {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop before the {q-Spades} turn checked through to the {9-Hearts} river.

Shen then jammed for 268,000 and after some thinking time, his opponent folded.

As Frohli mucked, Shen tabled his {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for just a pair of fives and Frohli looked less than impressed.

Christopher Moneymaker

Chris Moneymaker has been forced to cease poker operations at his Kentucky card room, Moneymaker Social Club, following threats of criminal action from local authorities.

The poker room, located in Paducah, had just opened in September and had originally received approval from the then McCracken County Attorney Sam Clymer. But Clymer's replacement, Cade Foster, has reversed course on the decision to allow Moneymaker Social Club to continue spreading poker games.

Mosca Hits Set and Davo Rivers Flush in Dramatic All-In Confrontation

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Enrico Mosca
Enrico Mosca

Enrico Mosca raised from early position and Benjamin Davo shoved for 151,000. Mosca called and the cards were on their backs.

Benjamin Davo: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Enrico Mosca: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

Mosca hit a set on the flop and it looked like he would bust Davo's aces. A heart on the turn and another on the river gave Davo the runout he needed, giving him the flush and the double up.

Big Stacks on Button and Blinds Battle for Baby Pot

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Samuel Ju
Samuel Ju

Aiguo Xu made it 28,000 to go on the button, and got both blinds Thibault Reverdito and Samuel Ju to call.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and that prompted the players to check around.

On the turn {j-Hearts}, it checked to Xu again, but this time he put out a bet worth 30,000 chips. Reverdito went out of the way, while Ju came along for the river.

The {j-Diamonds} appeared and once more the action was all checks. At showdown Xu's {10-Spades}{7-Clubs} for the turned straight won the pot against Ju's pair of nines with {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.

All three players are playing above an above average stack, with their neighbor to the left Tonino Cardia also having over a million in chips.

Ferrah Doubles Through Chip Leader

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Mathieu Rabalison opened to 30,000 from early position before Meddi Ferrah jammed for 75,000 from the hijack. The chip leader called.

Ferrah had the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and was ahead of Rabalison's {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. The {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds} runout confirmed the former's double up.

"I run so bad," joked Rabalison, which got a good few laughs from the table.

Aubakirov Turns a King to Bring Stack Close to One Million; Paulo in Danger Zone

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Bernardino Paulo
Bernardino Paulo

Jean-Jacques Zeitoun made a late position raise to 35,000 and Daniyar Aubakirov reraised to 80,000 from the button. Then, Bernardino Paulo moved all in from the small blind for 550,000. Action folded back around to Aubakirov, who made the call.

Daniyar Aubakirov: {k-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}
Bernardino Paulo: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

Paulo's queens were still ahead on the flop, but Aubakirov found a king on the turn to pair up and win the pot. It was a huge double up for Aubakirov, who shot up to close to one million in chips.
