Andreas Burger jammed for 450,000 from the cutoff, and Didier Bragiola called off his stack for slightly less. Jean Gaye had a stack of 445,000 in the big blind, and he also called for his tournament life.
Didier Bragiola:
Jean Gaye:
Andreas Burger:
Gaye had a pair and the nut flush draw following the flop and he secured the hand after the turn. The river gave Bragiola a set but it was no help.
The following hand, Burger was all in for his last chip with and was up against the held by Mathias Subraud.
The jacks remained ahead on the runout and Burger was finished off.
After getting several complaints from players about the currently underway European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris festival, PokerStars issued a statement apologizing for "the subpar experience some of you have had at EPT Paris."
The festival is taking place at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile, a venue that hasn't been the most popular among players due to its limited space, tight hallways, and registration process. Many were startled when they went to register for the record-breaking €1,100 FPS Paris Main Event only to learn that the event was at capacity and they'd be unable to do so.
In a statement issued on Feb. 18, Cedric Billot, Head of Live Events Global Operations for PokerStars, personally apologized for the issues experienced by players at the first-ever EPT stop in France, a country with its own unique gambling rules and restrictions. The statement also provided information for players looking to register for the EPT Main Event to ensure the smoothest experience possible.
Jean-Jacques Zeitoun opened to 55,000 from under the gun before Julien Sitbon three-bet to 150,000 on his direct left. Han Shen then jammed for 645,000 from the next seat over as well.
Zeitoun folded and Sitbon went into the tank. He also eventually found the fold and Shen was kind enough to show his .
Redouane Abed opened the action from middle position by raising to 55,000. Soren Reffstrup only had 155,000 chips in total and decided to put that amount all in from the hijack. It folded back to Abed, who quickly called. It seemed like a classic flip:
Soren Reffstrup:
Redouane Abed:
Abed raced ahead on the flop, but the deck had other ideas and it came to put a flush in middle, resulting in each player taking half the pot. The relieved Reffstrup shared a fistbump with his opponent after escaping with his tournament live.
Federico Cerqua opened from the button and Djamal Boutaleb reshoved all in from the big blind. Cerqua called and the cards were on their backs.
Djamal Boutaleb:
Federico Cerqua:
The board ran out .
Boutaleb hit an ace on the flop to take the lead and Cerqua couldn't find any help on the turn or river. A sigh and an anguished look told the story of how Cerqua felt in that moment, with his stack decimated to just a few big blinds.
Action seems to have slowed down considerably since players returned from the break, many recent hands ending with a simple raise and fold.
In a hand that did make it beyond the preflop stages, Toni Kaukua raised to 40,000 from middle position and was called by Ibrahim Ghassan, as well as the player in the big blind.
The flop came . The big blind checked, Kaukua bet 100,000 and Ghassan called. The big blind got out of the way, leaving two players to go to the turn.
The turn came , Kaukua checked and Ghassan bet 120,000, which Kaukua called. Both players checked on the river and the hand went to showdown. Kaukua showed for a full house to scoop the pot.
