Salazar Sanchez Binks the River

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
Mauricio Salazar
Mauricio Salazar

Tibor Nagygyorgy was already all-in and awaiting his fate after the {j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop when the {10-Diamonds} turn brought the all-in of Marc Choucair in the big blind. He held the superior stack against Mauricio Salazar Sanchez, who eventually called it off for the 13,900 he had behind.

Tibor Nagygyorgy: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Mauricio Salazar Sanchez: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Marc Choucair: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Choucair was ahead with the nut straight and Nagygyorgy already drawing dead. Despite blocking two hearts, Choucair could not hold as the {6-Hearts} river improved Salazar Sanchez to the nut flush.

Vedral on the Rise

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Thailand's Kannapong Thanarattrakul was playing for stacks and called a raise to 16,000 on the {k-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades} turn by David Vedral, which led them to the {j-Clubs} on the river. This time, both players checked and Vedral tabled the {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for the top pair and top kicker with the missed nut flush draw.

Thanarattrakul was unable to beat that and dropped back below the starting stack.

Cirillo Eliminated; Metaal Doubles

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Over on table 25, a completed board of {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} saw a check by Federico Cirillo out of the small blind. Matteo Cavelier then bet his large chip denominations and Cirillo called it off.

Cavelier tabled the {a-Spades}{8-Spades} for aces and eights, which ended up winning the pot. Cirillo briefly flashed the {a-}{3-} as confirmed by Victor Canaple in the big blind. Apparently Canaple had also been involved in the action as well but folded on a previous street.

One hand later, Govert Metaal jammed for the last 2,100 and Axel Hallay called in the next seat.

Govert Metaal: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}
Axel Hallay: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The dominated pair gained equity on the {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop but Metaal survived after the {2-Clubs} turn and {q-Hearts} river.

Carvalho Doubles Back Above the Starting Stack

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

The cards of Alexis Nicolai were already in the muck and he paid off a full double-up to table neighbour Manuel Carvalho. With just a small main pot in the middle, Carvalho's {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} had flopped a set on the {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} board and that saw the Portuguese leap back above the starting stack, trading positions with Nicolai.

Bithell Gets Some Chips Off Margets

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

The UK's Oliver Bithell bet a heads-up river of {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for 2,500 and Leo Margets called after only a few seconds of consideration. Bithell tabled the {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for the top pair and top kicker, which won the pot.

Early chip leader on the same table is South Korea's Namhyung Kim, who has nearly doubled the stack already.

Colillas Chips Up in Showdown Versus Chang

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante
Ramon Colillas
Ramon Colillas

Without any major action prior to the {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds} river, Ramon Colillas in the big blind bet 3,500 for the size of the pot. He was up against Carlos Chang who called after a couple of seconds. Colillas tabled the {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for rivered trips and that won the pot to boost the stack of the Spaniard.

Leathley Has the Better Kicker

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Heads-up to the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Clubs} turn, Vlada Stojanovic checked and subsequently called a bet of 3,000 by Ross Leathley. That led the duo to the {2-Diamonds} river on which both opted to check.

Stojanovic tabled the {j-Spades}{10-Hearts} for trips with a jack kicker but Leathley had him pipped by a notch with the {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.
