Afshar Triples Up With Two Pair

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Ali Afshar and Jose Serra committed the last of their chips preflop with Yalcin Aslan making the call to put them both at risk.

Ali Afshar: Q10 All in
Jose Serra: AQ All in
Yalcin Aslan: KK

The flop came 7510 to give Afshar and Serra some extra outs to stay alive. The Q on the turn put Afshar ahead with two pair. The J hit the river, meaning Afshar would triple up with two pair, queens and tens, while Serra was sent to the rail as he lost the side pot to Aslan's pocket kings

Kent Sees Off Romo

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Joel Casanovas opened to 5,000 from the hijack before Francisco Martin Romo moved all in for 31,000 from the cutoff. Action was on Kevin Kent in the small blind, but Casanovas had a lapse in concentration and folded out of turn. With that, Kent called, and Casanovas folded his hand when it was his turn to act.

Romo had AQ and was flipping against 99. The board ran out with the 75487 and Romo was ejected.

Casanovas was then given a two-hand penalty for his error, but he had no complaints and the next hand got underway.

Dubonnet Makes a Straight

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Thomas Eychenne opened 5,000 in the hijack and only Samy Dubonnet came along from the big blind.

The dealer spread a flop of Q109, and Dubonnet check-called a continuation bet of 4,500.

Both players tapped the table on the 7 turn, and the 8 river. Dubonnet tabled J5 for a straight on the river, and Eychenne mucked his hand.

Paparo Falls to Irish Open Main Event Champ

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Tero Laurila
Tero Laurila

Domenico Paparo opened to 5,000 from early position and was called by Manuel De Sousa from the hijack. The 2024 Irish Open Main Event Champion, Tero Laurila, three-bet to 25,000 from the cutoff, which folded out the button and the blinds. Paparo called ahead of De Sousa returning his cards to the dealer.

On the AJ8 flop, Paparo check-raised to 30,000 over a bet of 15,000. Laurila quickly moved all in as the bigger stack, and Paparo called off the 40,000 more he had behind.

Domenico Paparo: AKAll in
Tero Laurila: J8

Paparo had top pair, top kicker, but was behind Laurila's two pair. The 9 turn was no help to Paparo, who departed after Laurila improved to a full house on the J river.

Zapsa Drags it on the Turn

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

With 16,000 in the middle, the flop read 1086, and Michele Perego fired 4,000 across the line from early position. Tudor Zapsa on the button was his only opponent and made the call.

When the 9 hit the turn, Perego slowed down with a check and Zapsa cut out a bet of 8,500 and dropped it across the line. That was enough for Perego to surrender the pot as his cards hit the muck.

Miguez Folds to Seaton's Pressure

Level 13 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Archibald Seaton and Fernandez Miguez were heads-up on a flop of 255. Seaton checked from the big blind and Miguez checked behind.

The 2 fell on the turn and Seaton led out for 13,000. Miguez called.

After the 7 completed the board, Seaton announced he was all in, which was enough to put Miguez all in for his last 50,000.

Miguez tanked for a while, but eventually thought better of it and laid his hand down.
