Ciechanowicz Busts to Set of Queens

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Following an open raise, Gabriel Moura three-bet to 2,000 and Robin Zagorski called. Lukasz Ciechanowicz then moved all in for his remaining 6,000 chips and only Moura made the call. Players flipped their cards, with Ciechanowicz at risk.

The board ran out A794Q and the flop brought Ciechanowicz a pair of aces. The river, however, gave Moura a set of queens and he won the pot to eliminate Ciechanowicz.

Following the successful return of the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) in Las Vegas last year, PokerStars announced in May that the NAPT will return to Resorts World, Las Vegas, this November for another ten-day poker extravaganza.

Ye Five-Bets Preflop

Level 3 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Jack Corrigan opened from the hijack to 800. Shuangyi Ye reraised to 1,600. Vilius Augutis took a moment before making it 3,500.

Corrigan made the fold. Ye went into the tank for a moment before making it 11,000. Augutis relinquished his hand as soon as Ye's chips hit the felt.

Stevic Wins With Higher Kicker

Following an open raise to 700 from late position, Alexander Stevic called on the button, and Kacper Wolkowski three-bet to 2,200 from the small blind. The original raiser folded and Stevic called.

The flop came 54Q and Wolkowski bet 2,000, which Stevic called. The turn was the 2 and Wolkowski checked. Stevic bet 3,500 and Wolkowski called.

The river came the 6 and both players checked to showdown. Wolkowski had QxJx for a pair of queens and Stevic had KQ for a pair of queens with a higher kicker to win the pot.

Samuel Sanchez opened to 600 from middle position before Tjan Tepeh made it 2,000 from the hijack. Vitalijs Korhs pondered for a moment before four-betting to 5,500. He received two quick folds and took his stack to 50,000.

David Docherty raised to 700 from middle position and Roberto Masullo called in late position.

The flop came 28J and Docherty checked. Masullo bet 700 and Docherty check-raised. Masullo folded and Docherty won the pot.

Lin Chews Up Appleton's Stack

Yi Ang Lin opened to 700 from middle position and called when Luke Appleton three-bet to 2,200.

Lin check-called bets of 1,600 and 5,400 on the flop and turn for the final board to read 72266.

Lin then snap-called as the bigger stack after Appleton moved all in for 15,000.

Appleton tabled QxQx but Lin revealed 66 for quad sixes to score the busout.

Garcia Wins at Showdown

Lauri Varonen opened from the cutoff to 800. Action folded around to Cesar Garcia who called from the small blind.

The 78Q flop was checked around, as was the 2 turn. Another round of knuckles ensued on the J river. Garcia tabled 55 which was good enough to take the pot.

Defending champion Simon Wiciak just took his seat on Day 1a and raised to 700 from under the gun on one of his first hands. Brian Altman called in the big blind.

The flop came 10QK and Wiciak continued for 600. Altman called and the 3 fell on the turn. Wiciak then fired out 3,000 and Altman quickly folded.

George Chiriac opened from the cutoff to 700. Herbert Farias reraised on the button to 2,200. Chiriac then four-bet to 7,700. Farias made the call.

Chiriac led on the J8A flop for 3,600. Farias called. Chiriac then went into the tank before moving all in for 16,000 on the 7 turn. Farias snap-called,

Farias had found the case ace to flop top set and Chiriac was drawing slim. He couldn't make a straight on the J river and Farias made a full house to send Chiriac to the rail.
