The prestigious grind of the €5,300 EPT Main Event, running as part of the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona, continues today with Day 6 of this seven-day event. At noon local time, the remaining 16 competitors will return to Casino Barcelona to make a play for their share of the €9,578,750 prize pool, all vying for the Gold PokerStars shard and the first-place prize of €1,512,000.
As the dust settled last night, Rania Nasreddine easily took pole position in the counts, having amassed a stack of 7,200,000 by the end of proceedings. Nasreddine most notably finished third in the EPT Monte Carlo Main Event just five months ago, making this tournament run a compelling campaign for back-to-back final tables.

However, Nasreddine’s path to the top is not yet clear of obstacles with the likes of Fabiano Kovalski and David Coleman still commanding healthy stacks of 5,550,000 and 3,570,000, respectively.
Coleman’s reputation speaks for itself, and this deep run is yet another opportunity for him to claim an additional major title in his already fruitful career as a professional. In addition, Kovalski finished fourth in the 2022 EPT Barcelona Main Event for €565,280 and will be sure to put up a fight in hopes of exceeding his own personal best set two years ago.

Fabiano Kovalski got involved for the first time today, opening to 160,000 from under the gun. Marius-Catalin Pertea quickly made it 475,000 from two seats over to put the action back on the Brazilian. Kovalski returned his cards to the dealer after the action folded to him.
On the next deal, Pertea raised to 175,000 with A♥Q♣, and Kovalski defended his big blind with Q♦10♦. The latter check-raised to 375,000 over a bet of 150,000 on the 7♦4♦4♥ flop. Pertea thought briefly before calling. Kovalski fired out another 400,000 on the 5♦ turn, and Pertea continued to stick around. The 9♣ completed the board, and Kovalski used up a time bank before sliding 1,275,000 into the middle. Pertea rechecked his hand one last time before letting it go.
