Action was on the flop on a board of Q♦8♥9♥. Vasken Demlakian checked and Michael Gathy bet 6,500 into an already inflated pot. Demlakian put in a check-raise to 14,000, causing Gathy to fold his hand. Demlakian scooped a significant pot to bring his stack up to around 45,000.
Sergiy Dudka was in the cutoff and got his last 15,000 in the middle against Samir Rahal in the small blind.
Sergiy Dudka: Q♠Q♦
Samir Rahal: A♣A♠
Rahal had picked up aces to leave Dudka at risk of being the first player to be eliminated. The 5♥3♥4♥K♣8♦ board provided no help to Dudka and he was sent to the rail.
Tudor Zapsa open raised from late position and picked up two calls before Juan Cruz Gianoli three-bet to 3,000 from the big blind. Zapsa called and the rest of the table folded.
The flop came 8♠5♣Q♥ and Gianoli made a continuation bet of 2,300, which Zapsa called. The turn came the 7♠ and Gianoli led again for 6,000. Zapsa once again called.
On the Q♣ river, Gianoli took his sweet time before betting out for 6,000. Zapsa came in with a shove and Gianoli's cards were in the muck before the chips were even in the middle, giving Zapsa the pot.
Tsugunari Toma had a raise of 2,000 in front of him from the cutoff before Derk van Luijk reraised to 8,000 in the small blind. Toma called and they saw a flop of 10♠3♠8♣.
Van Luijk then bet 22,000 and Toma moved all in for around 25,000. Van Luijk snap-called.
Tsugunari Toma: 3♣2♣
Derk van Luijk: A♦A♣
Some shocked gasps arose from the table when Toma revealed his cards. The A♥ fell on the turn to give van Luijk top set and Toma was already drawing dead by the 7♣ river.
"I did not expect that," van Luijk said as he stacked up the pot.
On the 5♥10♦10♠ flop, with 6,000 already in the pot, Priit Parmasto opened from the button with a bet of 1,600. Yunsheng Sun, seated under the gun, and [Removed:467] in the cutoff, both opted to check-call.
The turn revealed the 2♥, prompting Parmasto to assert his position with a bet of 3,500. Sun folded, but Al Sayegh responded with a check-raise to 7,000, which Parmasto called.
When the A♠ appeared on the river, Al Sayegh confidently went all-in with his last 9,200, prompting Parmasto to fold.
"Are you not afraid of aces?" Parmasto inquired, with a neighbor on his left concurring, "That's what I thought too."
Al Sayegh simply smiled and asked, "What did you have?"
"Kings," Parmasto confessed.
"Oh, wow," Al Sayegh remarked.
A few hands earlier, there was notable action on the 10♠7♥6♦10♦6♣ board, where Parmasto secured a significant pot with J♣10♥ against A♣A♦.
"Tens are running hot at this table," Parmasto remarked, "But this time not in my favor," assuming his opponent had a ten.

The flop came 4♦3♠10♦ and all four players checked. The turn came the 5♥ and Ensan, the under the gun led out for 1,200. Only Frere made the call.
The river was the A♥ and Ensan bet out again, this time for 4,000. Frere flicked out a chip to signify the call. Ensan showed 7♦6♣ for the nut straight and Frere mucked his hand.
With 6,000 in the pot, Marc Pronilow, Samuel Ju, and Ian Hamilton went three-handed to a flop of 7♦8♦Q♥.
All three players checked to the 8♣ turn, where Pronilow bet 3,600. Ju then raised to 8,000.
Hamilton quickly folded, but Pronilow tanked for a minute before he also folded.
Nina Krasilnikova arrived at the table during the hand and introduced herself to each of her tablemates. "Smile," she told Pronilow.
"I am smiling. I couldn't have wished for a better day," Pronilow replied. "I gave you a lot of credit there," he told Ju who raked in the pot uncontested.
