Angelov Snaps Off Two Players

Level 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Boris Angelov
Boris Angelov

Kevinas Korsakas raised to 25,000 in early position and Boris Angelov called in the cutoff. Eduard Barsegyan then moved all in for 307,000 in the small blind.

Korsakas used two time banks before he also moved all in for around 300,000. Angelov couldn't put his chips in fast enough as he had both players covered and at risk.

Eduard Barsegyan: QJ All in
Boris Angelov: AA

Angelov had woken up with aces, and neither Barsegyan nor Korsakas could find enough help on the 68106Q board and were both sent to the rail.

For Korsakas, he turned his Power Path ticket into a 58th-place finish and €15,200 payday.

McMahon Left Steaming; Baltateanu Given One Round Penalty

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Gareth McMahon
Gareth McMahon

Absolute chaos unfolded on the final hand before the break on Table 3, where Gareth McMahon was left irate following a player's action.

McMahon opened to 20,000 from the cutoff to put the action on Niclass Thumm, who was on the button. Before Thumm acted, Silviu Balteanu folded out of turn in the small blind and left the table to go the break. This prompted Konstantyn Holskyi folding his cards in the big blind, who had previously had words with the Irishman.

With that taking place, Thumm knew that he was the last player to act preflop and made it 70,000. McMahon then jammed for around 353,000 and was quickly called.

Gareth McMahon: A5All in
Niclas Thumm: AK

McMahon was essentially flopped dead as Thumm improved to trips when the dealer put out the K8K. The flop was followed by the 47, marking McMahon's departure.

"I only jammed because of that [the out of turn folds]" said McMahon, who added that Thumm could be three-betting lighter due to what had taken place.

Holskyi, who was still at the table to watch the hand play out, received a tirade full of expletives from McMahon.

Holskyi tried to play innocent, but McMahon continued to give him a piece of his mind. McMahon alleged that Holskyi had been taking videos of him and laughing over the last few hands. Holskyi maintained his innocence in a few words.

McMahon left the table, and soon after, Baltateanu returned. The floor witnessed what had transpired and gave Baltateanu a telling-off and a one-round penalty for "influencing action". Like Holskyi, Baltateanu protested that he had done nothing wrong, but the punishment was not rescinded.

Holskyi Irks McMahon

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Gareth McMahon opened to 20,000 from early position and received calls from Silviu Baltateanu in middle position, Konstantyn Holskyi in the cutoff and Javier Caballo in the big blind.

The 10AQ flop was checked through to Holskyi, who put out a bet of 30,000. Caballo folded, but McMahon and Baltateanu called.

The Q rolled off on the turn and action was checked to Holskyi, who put out a bet of 125,000. McMahon quickly and loudly announced "Fold!" and, after some thought, Baltateanu followed suit, flashing the A.

As Holskyi was raking in the pot, an irritated McMahon said, after seeing Baltateanu's ace "I folded better, ace-king", then to Holskyi, "You have no bluff there, maybe jack-nine. Why do you keep bloating the pots, every pot, you may as well go all-in, its the same thing."

Holskyi seemed amused and said "I had fives".

As that hand played out, there was another all in and call on a neighboring table.

Sebastian Malec opened to 20,000 from middle position and was called by Rania Nasreddine from the button. Dan Smith made it 80,000 from the big blind before Malec ripped in his stack of around 370,000.

Nasreddine blew Malec a kiss, thanking him for making her decision easier. Smith then quickly called.

Malec, like Mokri, could not find his two-outer on the runout, and left the tournament room after the dealer fanned the Q3366 board.

Ievchenko was ahead with his queens and poised for a double up as the flop came JJ7. The turn, though, was the 10 and Tetart made a full house. The river was the K and Tetart secured the pot to send Ievchenko to the rail.

"Tens is your hand," tablemate Gerard Carbo said after the hand.

Rohit Mariwalla limped under the gun, and Daniel Oterhals followed suit in the next seat. Francisco Benitez joined the fun on the button, and Philipp Wenzelburger checked his option in the big blind.

On the 8K4 flop, Mariwalla flicked out a bet of 10,000, which only Oterhals called.

The J rolled off on the turn, and Mariwalla checked to his opponent. Oterhals put out a bet of 18,000 and Mariwalla quickly check-jammed for 125,000. Oterhals made the swift call.

Seibt Celebrates a Chop and a Double

Level 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Alexander Seibt
Alexander Seibt

Rutger Hennen opened to 20,000 from the button and saw Marius Gierse and Alexander Seibt call from the blinds.

Hennen continued for 45,000 on the AQA flop and only Seibt called. The latter then check-called for 45,000 on the 9 turn. Seibt, who had less than 90,000, moved all in on the K river and was snap-called.

Seibt tabled A3 while Hennen had AJ. Seibt then celebrated the chop pot, with Hennan calling the poker vlogger lucky as the king and queen on the board nullified his jack kicker.

On the next deal, Daniel Oterhals opened to 20,000 from the hijack. Seibt and Francisco Benitez called from the blinds. Oterhals bet 17,000 on the Q65 flop. Only Benitez called. The 2 turn and 7 river checked through to showdown and Benitez took down the pot with his Q2.

The following hand, Rohit Mariwalla opened to 21,000 from early position before Seibt jammed for 188,000 from the button. Action folded back to Mariwalla.

"I don't think I can fold this one," said Mariwalla, who only just had Seibt covered. He eventually put in calling chips and the cards went on their backs.

Seibt was in great shape for a double up, which he received after remaining best on the sweat-free 74324 runout.

Malek Can't Bet Out Rotariu

George Rotariu
George Rotariu

George Rotariu bet 12,000 from early position on a flop of J8J and Derk van Luijk called in the small blind. Sebastian Malec then raised to 42,000 in the big blind and only Rotariu called.

The turn was the K and Malec slid forward 124,000. Rotariu again called and the 3 fell on the river.

Malec slowed down and checked, and Rotariu quickly checked back. Malec showed 98 for two pair, but Rotariu had QJ for trips to win the pot.

"Easy life," tablemate Rania Nasreddine told Rotariu after the hand.

"Too bad the river was a heart. I couldn't bet," Rotariu replied.
