Out of a huge field of 1,127 entries on Day 1c, only around 599 players have chips at their disposal. They have been sent on a 75-minute dinner break and the action will resume at approximately 7:20 p.m. local time.
Late registration remains open for the following two levels and next break.
David Docherty had lost even more chips but then got a shove through versus Jean Paul Zaffran. Shortly after, he was the raiser against Giuseppe Rago from under the gun, who simply limp-jammed for his stack of fifty blinds. Docherty called for the 33,700 he had behind.
David Docherty: Q♥Q♣
Giuseppe Rago: A♣Q♦
Once the cards were turned over, Rago leaped out of his chair and turned around, seemingly not wanting to see the outcome.
The pocket pair remained ahead all the way on the K♦4♦4♣4♠8♦ board for Docherty to double.
