Stephane Gabarre Eliminated in 17th Place (€22,040)

Level 31 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante
Stephane Gabarre
Stephane Gabarre

Parker Talbot opened to 300,000 first-to-act and Stephane Gabarre shoved for his last 2,500,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back to Talbot, who called having Gabarre slightly covered.

Stephane Gabarre: AK
Parker Talbot: QQ

It was another classic race. The JKA flop vaulted Gabarre into the lead with two pair and the J changed nothing; however, the 10 filled Talbot’s Broadway straight draw and Gabarre was eliminated in dramatic fashion.

Michel Leibgorin: A6

The flop came 2K2 and Assouline made two pair to take the lead. The 4 turn was safe, while the 9 river gave him a higher two pair and a double up.

Claas Segebrecht: AK
Omar Del Pino: QQ

It was a classic race, but the 106JJ7 runout kept Del Pino’s ladies in front — vaulting him into the chip lead and eliminating Segebrecht in 19th place.

Talbot Survives on the River

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Parker Talbot
Parker Talbot

Before the hand, Naim Ouachekradi returned to the table and joked about whether he could reenter.

"Fifty thousand," Parker Talbot told him.

"I would reenter for €50,000. That's a good deal," Jesse Lonis added.

The table then folded around to Niklas Bauer who limped in from the small blind. Talbot then shoved for 1,400,000 and Bauer snap-called.

Parker Talbot: A5
Niklas Bauer: QQ

Bauer had set a trap for Talbot who was far behind and at risk for his tournament life as the flop came 748. The turn was the 3, but the 6 river gave Talbot a straight to double up.

"No justice in tournament life," Talbot said as he took in the pot.

On the 5 turn Del Pino fired again for 900,000 and that was enough to force a fold from Segebrecht.
