Kulev Pulls Out the Big Bets

Level 15 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Alex Kulev raised to 24,000 from the button and Mike Watson made the call from the small blind. Both players checked through the 439 flop before the Q turn was brought on the felt.

Watson checked again, after which Kulev elected to bet 72,000 chips. Watson took some time but made the call, and the 3 river completed the board.

Another check followed from the Canadian, whereafter Kulev put in 225,000 chips, almost all of his stack.

Watson thought the situation over once more but settled on a fold, forfeiting the pot to Kulev.

On the first hand back from break, Steve O'Dwyer moved all in for 48,000 in the hijack and Jean-Noel Thorel called in the cutoff. Sam Grafton used a time bank before he also called in the big blind.

Thorel and Grafton checked the 852 flop and Thorel bet 75,000 on the 10 turn, forcing Grafton from the pot. Thorel opened up A10 for a pair of tens, while O'Dwyer had A2.

The river was the 3 and O'Dwyer was sent to the rail.

Ponakovs Leaves Boivin With Crumbs; Mateos Finishes the Job

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Thomas Boivin raised to 20,000 in early position before Aleksejs Ponakovs three-bet to 49,000 in the hijack. Boivin moved all in and Ponakovs snap-called.

Aleksejs Ponakovs: KK
Thomas Boivin: 99

Ponakovs had woken up with kings and no miracles arrived for Boivin on the 6104Q7 board. The stacks were counted down and Ponakovs had 331,000 remaining. Boivin had him covered by just 20,000 and handed over most of his stack.

Boivin moved all in the next hand, Adrian Mateos reraised to 37,000, and the rest of the table folded.

Thomas Boivin: 22
Adrian Mateos: JJ

Boivin had run into yet another bigger pair as the board ran out 3310Q8 to send him to the exit.

Thorel Wins Quickly

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Jesse Lonis raised to 20,000 from under the gun and Jean-Noel Thorel made the call from the cutoff.

Lonis made a bet of 12,000 on the subsequent AQJ flop, which Thorel almost instantly raised to 75,000.

Lonis took some time, but ultimately let his hand go and forfeited the pot to the French high roller.

Kaverman Gets It In

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Byron Kaverman raised to 42,000 from the hijack, leaving himself only 5,000 behind, and Thomas Boivin made the call from the button.

The 893 flop was then checked by both players before Boivin put Kaverman all in on the 2 turn, with the latter check-calling.

Byron Kaverman: QJ
Thomas Boivin: A7

Kaverman still had a few outs he could hit, but the 5 river was not one of them and he swiftly vacated the tournament area.

Malinov Wins Another One

Level 14 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Jesse Lonis raised to 22,000 from the cutoff and was faced with a three-bet jam for 62,000 from Atanas Malinov in the small blind, which he quickly called.

Atanas Malinov: A6

Malinov was the only one to make a pair on the 67K85 board, doubling him up once again.
