Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.

In the 21st episode, Connor speaks with Survivor legend Boston Rob, aka Rob Mariano, about growing up near Fenway Park, learning poker at the age of 6, studying psychology at Boston University, applying for Survivor and winning Season 22, his recent appearance on Deal or No Deal Island and filming an upcoming season of The Traitors.

Boston Rob also revealed a story about Costa Rican authorities raiding a mansion known to host high-stakes poker games during a 2006 filming that included Daniel Negreanu, Josh Arieh, David Williams, Michael Mizrachi and actress Cheryl Hines.

"(Gambling mogul) Calvin (Ayre) had a big party at the house, and they came in guns drawn," he said. "And we were fine, but we all had to stay at the party until they checked our passports and everything. I think it was a little bit of a shakedown. But we had a good weekend."

Grafton Sends O'Dwyer Deep into the Tank

Sam Grafton raised to 8,000 from the hijack before Steve O'Dwyer three-bet to 28,000 from the button. When it folded back to Grafton, he called.

Grafton check-called a bet of 16,000 from O'Dwyer on the K♠4♦3♦ flop.

The 2♦ turn was checked through for the 4♥ to hit the river. Grafton led out for 100,000, which sent O'Dwyer deep into the tank. After pondering through four of his time extensions, O'Dwyer released his hand and surrendered the pot to Grafton.

Teun Mulder raised to 8,000 from under the gun and got three calls including the latest addition to the tournament Martin Kabrhel.

The flop came 8♥7♥2♦ and it checked to Pavel Plesuv who bet 12,000. Steve O'Dwyer was the only caller.

The turn was the 6♦ and Plesuv check-called 25,000. Both players checked the 2♠ river.

Plesuv tabled 5♦5♣ but O'Dwyer won the pot with 9♠8♠ for a pair of eights.

Markkos Ladev raised to 8,000 from the hijack before Martin Kabrhel three-bet to 30,000 from the small blind. Teun Mulder cold four-bet to 66,000 from big blind and only Kabrhel called.

The dealer put out a flop of 2♠6♦5♦ and Kabrhel check-called a bet of 35,000 from Mulder.

When the 4♣ hit the turn Kabrhel shoved for Mulder's remaining 140,000. Mulder snap-called and the cards were revealed.

Mulder was ahead with pocket queens and just had to fade a diamond on the river. The river came the Q♠ to give Mulder a set and he doubled up through Kabrhel.

The flop A♦Q♦6♠ gave both players a pair and the turn was the 8♦. The river K♠ improved Kabrhel to two pair and he stayed alive.

A short while later, Kabrhel raised to 15,000 off of a stack of 37,000. Teun Mulder was in the next position and raised to 26,000. It folded back around to Kabrhel who, in typical Kabrhel fashion, questioned the legitimacy of the raise and called the floor. He also asked whether he could enter the Women's Event that was taking place nearby.

He eventually called and the flop came K♠K♦7♥. He checked and Mulder bet enough to put him all in. Again, after a Kabrhelesque show, he called.
