Giorgio Donzelli raised to 1,500 under the gun and James Carroll three-bet to 4,800 on the button. Benny Glaser then moved all in for 17,200 in the big blind and Donzelli gave it some thought before folding, but Carroll snap-called to put Glaser at risk.
Benny Glaser: A♠K♠
James Carroll: K♥K♣
Glaser was left looking for an ace against Carroll's kings, but no help arrived on the 7♣2♠5♣7♥J♣ board and he was sent to the rail.
Glaser had taken the seat of Axel Hallay, whose "chip-and-a-chair story" did not have a fairy tale ending after all.
On a board of 4♥6♦8♥Q♣ with around 9,000 in the pot, Eros Calderone bet 7,000 from under the gun and Mickael Erbil raised to 16,000. Calderone then shoved for around 25,000, and Erbil snap-called.
Eros Calderone: K♥K♣
Mickael Erbil: 7♥5♥
Erbil had flopped the nuts and had nothing to fear as no card on the river could save Calderone. However, the poker gods wanted to rub some salt into the wound and slapped a K♠ on the river, which gave Calderone a useless set and confirmed his elimination.
Marle Spragg moved all in for her last 9,000 from the cutoff as Gary Hasson put her at risk in the small blind.
Marle Spragg: 3♥3♠
Gary Hasson: 4♥4♣
Spragg found herself dominated against Hasson's bigger pair, and the 10♠7♣Q♣9♠K♦ board provided no reprieve as she hit the rail.
Joris Ruijs is also at this table with a big stack, while Max Deveson, who doubled up off Spragg earlier, has built his stack up to around 70,000.
Gianluca Lista and Yuan Li saw a flop of 5♥2♥4♦ where Lista bet 6,000 from the big blind. Li then moved all in for 15,000 from the cutoff, and Lista quickly called.
Yuan Li: A♥7♥
Gianluca Lista: 10♥10♣
Li had both straight and flush draws as he needed to improve against Lista's tens to stay alive. The 5♣ turn was no help, while the 2♠ river was a blank and sent Li off to the exit.
Ilija Savevski raised to 1,100 from middle position. Tommaso Briotti to his left three-bet to 8,000, Savevski moved all-in and Briotti called off his last 13,000.
Tommaso Briotti: A♦10♦
Ilija Savevski: K♠K♣
The board of 6♠3♣7♠7♥10♣ was no help for Briotti who was eliminated.
On a board of K♠Q♣7♠9♣ with approximately 8,000 in the pot, cards went on their backs with Bahram Chobineh under the gun at risk for 5,000 against Antonin Teisseire in the cutoff.
Bahram Chobineh: A♣Q♥
Antonin Teisseire: A♠A♥
Chobineh with a pair ran into aces. The 8♥ river sent him to the rail while Samantha Abernathy is expected to arrive at the table.
On a board of 8♣3♣4♦7♥, Juan Ochoa was in the cutoff and ended up getting his stack of around 15,000 in the middle, and was put at risk by Jeroen Leuver from middle position.
Juan Ochoa: 5♣4♣
Jeroen Leuver: 8♠7♠
Leuver had two pair, but needed to fade a lot of outs as Ochoa had clubs, sixes, and fours all working for him. The prettiest card in the deck followed on the river as the A♠ filled out the board, which didn't change anything and meant Ochoa was out.
Mykhailo Demydenko raised to 1,100 from early position and Alan Goasdoue in the hijack, Ivo Bartoletti in the small blind and Jorge Ruiz in the big blind made the call.
Everybody checked the 6♥J♠5♠ flop leading to the 10♠ turn where Bartoletti bet 1,100. Ruiz and Demydenko called but Goasdoue decided to move all-in for 20,200. The blinds folded to Demydenko who called.
Alan Goasdoue: J♥10♥
Mykhailo Demydenko: 9♠6♠
Goasdoue went all-in with two pair but ran into a flush and was eliminated after the 2♠ river.
John Woods limped in from the small blind and Arthur Thiriart checked his option from the big blind.
On the J♠8♦K♠ flop, Woods bet 1,000 and Thiriart made it 2,800 to go. Woods snapped back with a three-bet to 7,000, then Thiriart shoved. Woods called off his stack of around 18,000.
John Woods: A♥A♦
Arthur Thiriart: K♣8♥
Woods had elected to slow-play his aces, but that allowed Thiriart a free look at the flop. There was still a chance for Woods to survive as he picked up more outs on the 4♣ turn, but the 7♠ river was a brick, and he hit the rail.
