Yuriy Boyko opened from under the gun to 3,000 and Laurent Cessy three-bet the cutoff to 8,500. Wim Verhaegen was on the button and four-bet shoved his stack of 22,000, which got Boyko to fold. Cessy quickly called.

Laurent Chenet opened from the hijack and Erik Austheim called in the cutoff. Runar Runarsson also called from the big blind.

They saw a flop of 5♠7♣K♥, where Runarsson checked and Chenet continued for 2,500. Austheim called and Runarsson folded.

Both checked the 4♥ turn to the Q♥ river, where Chenet bet 11,500. Austheim went into the tank for quite some time, probably around three minutes, before he finally decided to call.

Chenet then tapped the table and slid his cards into the muck, which meant Austheim claimed the pot without needing to show his cards.

Ponomarev and Oie were both very short-stacked, and Palmu needed to connect with the board to send them both for an early shower.

The 6♣8♦A♠ flop gave everyone a piece, with Ponomarev taking the lead with top two pair. However, the 6♦ turn gave Palmu trips, and after the 3♠ rolled off on the river, Palmu won the pot and there were two new empty seats at the table.
