Peters, Barulia Take Their Time

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Tobias Peters
Tobias Peters

Gerard Rubiralta and Tobias Peters went to the turn on a board of 25710 with around 150,000 in the pot when Rubiralta moved all in from the small blind. Peters went into the tank, taking several minutes before the clock was called. He eventually committed his last 115,000 from the hijack.

Rubiralta showed A4 for straight and flush draws, while Peters had 87 for a pair of sevens. The 2 river was safe for Peters, and he doubled up.

At another table, Francesco Pagliazzo had opened to 16,000 in the hijack as action went on Naum Barulia in the big blind. He also took a few minutes to act, and the clock was called. The tournament official gave him only five seconds to act, and he three-bet to 44,000. Pagliazzo then moved all in, and the clock was again called on Barulia before he stuck in his last 10,000.

Naum Barulia: AQ All in
Francesco Pagliazzo: 1010

Barulia picked up a straight draw on the KJ3 flop, but he improved no further on the 4 turn or 8 river and was sent to the rail.

Panagiotou Soars to Seven-Figure Stack

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Menikos Panagiotou
Menikos Panagiotou

Or Nezer raised to 16,000 in early position. Menikos Panagiotou responded with a three-bet to 47,000 in the cutoff, but Nezer deemed the amount too low as he moved his entire stack of 334,000 over the line.

Panagiotou was visibly displeased with the situation, but he eventually called to put Nezer at risk.

Or Nezer: AK All in
Menikos Panagiotou: AQ

Nezer had Panagiotou dominated, but the JAQ flop made Panagiotou a big favorite. His two pair remained best on the 93 runout, and Nezer quickly headed to the exit as Panagiotou was awarded the massive pot.

Wesolek Wakes Up With a Better Ace to Bust Ntamaris

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Oleksandr Sybirtsev raised to 16,000 on the button before Fotios Ntamaris moved all in for 72,000 in the small blind. Bartosz Wesolek then reshoved in the big blind, and Sybirtsev let out a few frustrated sighs before tossing his cards into the muck.

Fotios Ntamaris: A6 All in
Bartosz Wesolek: AQ

Ntamaris found himself dominated and at risk, and the 942JK board offered no help as Wesolek's queen-kicker continued to play to earn him the knockout.

Pedro Marques
Pedro Marques

The stage was set last December for an epic battle inside the Hilton Prague, and it delivered in every way possible. Six players returned for the final day, and only one walked away a champion. In the end, it was Pedro Marques who outlasted a record-breaking field of 1,458 and toppled the seemingly unstoppable Paul Runcan to claim the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague €5,300 Main Event title.

For Marques, the victory was more than just another tournament win. "It’s an amazing, special feeling. One of the best days of my life, for sure," he said after securing the title and a €963,450 payout following a heads-up deal with Runcan. The Portuguese star, ranked second on his country’s all-time money list, added, "Winning a Main Event is completely different from any of my other wins—it’s a really special moment."

Burkhard Leaves Navarro on Fumes; Tungel Gets Paid by Cirtina

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Sandro Burkhard moved all in for 90,000 in the cutoff and Mario Navarro called in the big blind.

Sandro Burkhard: 33 All in
Mario Navarro: A10

Burkhard hit a set on the 632 flop to take a big lead, while Navarro picked up a straight draw on the 4 turn. The A river arrived too late for Navarro, and he handed over most of his stack.

At another table, Bogdan Cirtina bet 22,000 from the button on a board of 4A7K before Lars Tungel raised to 64,000 in the big blind. Cirtina called, and the 6 fell on the river.

Tungel then bet 109,000, and Cirtina again called. Tungel then showed KK for a turned set, and Cirtina mucked.

"Did I get lucky?" Tungel asked Cirtina, who revealed he had ace-queen.

Kalimashi Gets Value

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Picking up the action on a 3310Q turn, Moshe Eliyahu checked from the big blind to Xhemajli Kalimashi under the gun, who fired a bet of 50,000 into the pot of 125,000.

Eliyahu called to the 8 river, where Kalimashi sized up to 75,000. After some time in the tank, Eliyahu assembled a call and pushed it in the middle.

Kalimashi quickly tabled AQ for top pair, and Eliyahu took a final look at his cards before adding them to the muck.
