Goldenberg Snaps Off Oger For a Massive Double

Shmuel Goldenberg

Nicolas Oger and Shmuel Goldenberg built a pot of around 250,000 as they went heads-up to a 53K flop. Oger then bet 150,000 from the big blind, and Goldenberg called in early position.

The turn was the 8 and Oger moved all in. Goldenberg practically beat him into the pot and called for 244,000, turning over KK for top set. Oger could only show AK, and the 9 river secured the double up for Goldenberg as he moved up past 1,000,000.

Kodinov Finds a King to Slow Down Vandyshev

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Heads-up on a board of 426K, Aleksei Vandyshev bet 35,000 from the hijack before Atanas Kodinov moved all in for 128,000 in middle position. Vandyshev called with QQ, but Kodinov had KQ for a turned pair of kings.

The river was the 2 and Kodinov secured the double up. "You can't win every hand," he said to Vandyshev after the hand.

At another table, Yael Pilo Raz picked up two kings against Joachim Meisolle's queens and improved to top set on the flop. "You mean I can still win the tournament?" Meisolle joked as a count showed he barely had Raz's 370,000 covered.

"If I win the tournament now, then I'm a genius," Meisolle added, but his hopes were quickly dashed as he lost his last 12,000 the next hand.

"Easy game," Nus said.

Jasserand Avoids Chop to Double Up

Level 17 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Leonidas Kostagiolas raised to 12,000 from middle position when Martin Golini three-bet to 31,000 in the hijack.

Mathieu Jasserand upped the ante further by jamming all in for 100,000 from the big blind, sending Kostagiolas into the tank. Eventually, the table chip leader mucked his cards, after which Golini instantly called.

Mathieu Jasserand: AQ All in
Martin Golini: AQ

"Want to chop right now?" Golini jokingly asked as the 552 flop was fanned. The 7 turn brought Jasserand a flush draw, and it was completed on the K river to secure his double-up.

"I knew you were trouble," Golini said with a smile as he paid off his opponent.
