Jerome Besselievre raised to 160,000 under the gun. Shmuel Goldenberg made it 500,000 to go in the hijack, and Besselievre called once the action had folded back to him.

Goldenberg continued for 375,000 on the J92 flop, only to be check-raised to 975,000 by Besselievre.

Goldenberg called, prompting Besselievre to revert to a check on the 5 turn. Goldenberg took the opportunity to shove for 2,800,000. After some thought, he got a fold from his opponent.

Zhang Hits a One-Outer on the River

Level 28 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Yang Zhang was in the hijack and took a few moments to act before a tablemate called the clock. He eventually moved all in for 570,000, and action went on Grzegorz Kozieja who took one peek at his cards and snap-called.

Yang Zhang: 1010 All in
Grzegoriz Kozieja: AA

Zhang could only laugh when Kozieja turned over his aces, and he was already standing up from his seat with his jacket on as the board came 753J. The river, though, was the 10 and Zhang hit a set to win the pot.

"I already had my coat on," Zhang said, sitting back down.

"I folded a ten. You were super lucky," Ben Hurwitz told him.

Yang Zhang and Yulian Bogdanov built a pot of around 800,000 as they went heads-up to the 7AJ flop. Zhang then bet 600,000 from the small blind, and Bogdanov raised to 1,300,000 on the button.

Zhang took a few minutes before announcing all in, and Bogdanov snap-called as Zhang let out a loud cry of anguish.

Yulian Bogdanov: AJ All in
Yang Zhang: A7

Both players had flopped two pair, but Bogdanov was ahead with his aces and jacks. The J turn improved Bogdanov to a full house, and the river came the 8, earning him the massive pot.

His stack was counted down, and Bogdanov had 4,860,000, leaving Zhang with just 600,000.

Claudio Di Giacomo
Claudio Di Giacomo

Claudio Di Giacomo opened to 160,000 from under the gun and Karel Havelka three-bet to 1,000,000 from the hijack. Action folded around to Di Giacomo who moved all in and Havelka looked at the clock, and made the call for his remaining 170,000.

Grzegorz Kozieja

Mahersh Selvakumaran raised to 160,000 in the hijack, Grzegorz Kozieja moved all in for 1,750,000 in the small blind, and Selvakumaran called.

Grzegorz Kozieja: A8 All in
Mahersh Selvakumaran: KQ

Kozieja hit top pair on the A72 flop, then improved to trips on the A turn to leave Selvakumaran drawing dead. The river was the 6 and Kozieja doubled up.

The next hand at this table, Thor Morstoel got in his last 1,000,000 from the big blind and was up against Marcin Lesniewski in the cutoff.

Thor Morstoel: K10 All in
Marcin Lesniewski: QQ

Morstoel needed to overcome Lesniewski's queens to stay alive, and the 794 flop gave him hope with a flush draw. The 9 turn was no help, while the A fell on the river, and Morstoel was sent to the rail.

Tomasz Brzezinski

Oeyvind Sundseth made it 200,000 to go in the hijack. Tomasz Brzezinski responded with a three-bet to 670,000 from the small blind, leaving only 200,000 behind.

Sundseth thought it over for a while. Eventually, the clock was called on him. He decided to call near the end of his countdown, and Brzezinski's remaining chips flew in on the 2910 flop.

Tomasz Brzezinski: AQ All in
Oeyvind Sundseth: KJ

Brzezinski's ace-high was in the lead, and remained so on the 5 turn. The Q river made Sundseth a straight, however, deciding the pot in his favor.

Brzezinski said his goodbyes to the table before the most recent EPT Main Event champion headed to the payout area.
