Paunescu Takes From Pihela

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Igor Pihela made it 2,100 under the gun, seeing Nicolae Paunescu bump it up to 6,500 on the button.

Pihela called after some thought, after which he quickly check-called Paunescu's bets of 2,200 on the A66 flop and 8,000 on the J turn.

The 7 river was quickly checked to showdown. Pihela confidently tabled A8 for two pair, but he was outkicked by the AQ of Paunescu and saw the chips being shipped across the table.

Alexandr Kilennikov moved all in for 13,600, which only Sajad Abud called in the big blind.

Alexandr Kilennikov: 99 All in
Sajad Abud: AJ

The QK5 flop brought Abud a royal flush draw, but it was not to be as the board bricked out with the 6 turn and 8 turn.

Li Holds to Double Up

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

German Zafra, Teddy Clement, and Bosco Li arrived on the Q8J6 turn. With 20,000 in the pot, Zafra slid in a bet of 6,500 from the hijack. Clement called in the cutoff before Li committed his stack of 17,400 on the button.

Zafra went into the tank for a while before he mucked. Clement took some time as well, eventually flicking in a call with the covering stack.

Bosco Li: QJ All in
Teddy Clement: K10

The Q river upgraded Li to a full house, awarding him the pot as Clement was left with king-high.

Post Takes It, Table Discusses It

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Andrea Bensaid opened the action with a raise to 1,600 from under the gun, which was met with a three-bet to 4,000 from John Post in middle position.

Marco Regonaschi then spent some time toiling over how to respond, ultimately deciding a fold was the best course of action. It seemed Rania Nasreddine had a similarly tricky decision in the big blind. After taking stock of her opponent's stack, she too chose to fold. Action was then back on Bensaid, who called.

The dealer flipped over a Q56 flop, which saw Bensaid check before folding to a continuation bet of 8,000.

"I folded a strong hand," Regonaschi told the table.

"Me too," responded Nasreddine, going on to share she had folded ace-jack.

"I had ace-queen," said Regonaschi.

After which, a few of the players started discussing whether or not ace-queen was the best hand preflop.

Karmatckii called, prompting Valls to check the 10 turn. Karmatckii picked up the initiative with a bet of 8,500, winning him the pot as Valls let go of his cards.

Djian paired up on the AJ9 flop for a big lead. The 8 turn gave Sammartino a straight draw, but the 6 river was of no use.

Fournier Sucks Out to Survive

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

When the action folded to Alexandre Fournier in the cutoff, he moved all in for 12,700. Igaal Hanouna on the button was the only player to call.

Alexandre Fournier: AJ All in
Igaal Hanouna: AQ

Hanouna stood up, but Fournier must have known what was coming as he remained firmly in his seat.

The 10J5J7 board improved Fournier to trips, earning him a full double-up.
