Fazio Sets a Trap

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

When the player in the cutoff limped in, Olivier Fazio did the same on the button. Vakhtang Javakhisvili then raised to 3,300 from the small. The original limper folded, but Fazio then limp-raised to 10,000.

Javakhisvili, the table big stack, gave it some thought, but opted to return his cards to the dealer.

Maria Konnikova
Maria Konnikova

Catching the tail end of a pot between Maria Konnikova in the small blind and Gianluca Cedolia in the cutoff, Konnikova checked the completed 3A1087 flop over to Cedolia.

Cedolia then placed an overbet of 15,700, which appeared to be about one and a half times the pot. Konnikova did not take long before she flicked in a call.

Cedolio briefly flashed a straight, prompting Konnikova to table 98 to take down the pot with her flush.

The Start of a Spin?

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Left with a very short stack following a previous altercation, Alexandre Bermon moved all in for 3,800 over a raise from Xavier Cortazar Vidal, who then called to put Bermon at risk.

Alexandre Bermon: AA All in
Xavier Cortazar Vidal: 98

Bermon flopped top set on the A57 flop, but still wasn't safe, as Cortazar Vidal had picked up a straight draw.

The K turn and 5 river only served to improve Bermon to a full house, earning him a much-needed double-up.

Taghla Takes Out Huber

Level 6 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Heads up to the K87 flop, Mohamed-Said Taghla checked from the small blind to Josef Huber in the hijack. Huber announced a bet of 1,200, which Taghla quickly raised to 4,000.

Huber then moved all in for about 16,000, and Taghla quickly called without requesting a count.

Josef Huber: A4 All in
Mohamed-Said Taghla: K9

No heart appeared on the J7 runout, and Taghla's top pair remained best to confirm Huber's elimination.

During the hand, Alexandre Reard stood up and left an adjacent table as he was also left without chips.

Hulme Dominated and Out

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

The action was picked up as Andrew Hulme had worked his stack of roughly 17,000 into the middle and was at risk versus Baizhan Baimukhametov.

Andrew Hulme: AQ All in
Baizhan Baimukhametov: AK

The 694 flop offered Hulme no help, and the K turn saw him drawing dead.

Atta Leads Into Fuchs

Level 5 : Blinds 200/500, 500 ante

It folded to Omar Atta in the small blind. He limped in before he called big blind Tom Fuchs' raise to 2,000.

Both players checked the Q27 flop, and Atta continued checking on the A turn. Fuchs fired a bet of 3,000, which Atta called.

The 6 river then prompted Atta to lead out for 8,000. Fuchs spent some time in the tank, but ended up forfeiting the pot by mucking his cards.
