Mestre's Massive Call Wins Biggest Pot of Tournament

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Raul Mestre
Raul Mestre

Picking up the action on a 635 flop, Yurii Zabrodotskyi bet 25,000 under the gun, and Raul Mestre raised to 85,000 in the hijack. Zabrodotskyi called to the 7 turn, which both players checked.

Zabrodostkyi then made a gargantuan shove of 615,000 when the 10 river appeared, a bet worth around three times the pot. Mestre went deep into the tank, talking to himself while agonizing over his decision.

Eventually, he slammed in a tower of chips to call. Zabrodotskyi could only show ace-high with A9, and Mestre let out a sigh of relief as he triumphantly showed 44 for a straight.

Zabrodotskyi hurried out of the tournament area, while Mestre stacked up his new chips and retook his lead over the rest of the field.

Andrei Shmakov was all in for 73,000 in early position. Alan Ferraro had put his stack of 345,000 in from the cutoff, and Jose Malpelli in the hijack had them both covered.

Andrei Shmakov: JJ All in
Alan Ferraro: AQ All in
Jose Malpelli: AK

Shmakov turned a set on 587J to secure the main pot, and Malpelli won the big side pot when the K river upgraded him to top pair.

Ferraro was left empty-handed, and he said his goodbyes before heading to the payout desk.

Glaser Wins Three-Way Battle

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Benny Glaser made it 16,000 under the gun. Jeremie Beneteau called in the cutoff, and Blaz Zerjav defended his big blind once the action had folded to him.

The A24 was checked to Beneteau, who fired a bet of 20,000. Zerjav and Glaser both called, after which the trio checked through the 2 turn.

Zerjav checked again on the A river, but Glaser took the initiative with a bet of 80,000. Beneteau and Zerjav folded in rapid succession, sending the pot Glaser's way.

Fan Scoops Huge Pot, Pedrotti Eliminated

Level 18 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The action was joined as Longmao Fan had already won a huge all-in pot, and the dealer was counting his stack.

With a 3748A board face up on the felt, Fan had QQ tabled in front of him, and had scooped the huge 910,000 pot versus Renzo Pedrotti, who had JJ.

The collision left Pedrotti with just 12,000, which found its way in on the very next shuffle. Unfortunately for Pedrotti, he was unable to spin it up and was eliminated.

Stanislau Shylkou opened to 17,000 in early position. It folded to Longmao Fan in the small blind, who three-bet to 65,000. Oshri Lahmani then cold four-bet to 155,000 in the big blind, folding out Shylkou.

Fan was not done raising, however, and five-bet to 275,000. Lahmani wanted to have the final word and moved all in for 750,000, causing Fan to fold near the end of his 30-second shot clock.
